I don't have the budget a lot of people seem to have for this car, in other words I most likely won't be super-charging, adding turbo and might not even do a cat-back exhaust upgrade.
With that said, I wouldn't count certain things out altogether.
So far I've had her for about 2 months. I've debadged most emblams with only the Subaru symbol on the front remaining. The back is debadged but I relocated the 'BRZ' to where the Subaru symbol used to be.
I've purchased and installed the awesome Weather Tech mats for the front seats. Perrin Super Shorty 2" antenna, Perrin stainless steel slash cut 4" exhaust tips, HELIX JDM Front Bumper Side Marker Crystal Smoke lights, removed the warning stickers from my sunvisors and 3M rvinyl CF over a lot of the silver components.
In the works, 17'' Enkei EV5 wheels with 215/45 tires. Eibach Sportline springs all by next weekend should be done.
In the near future, 5% tint, slotted rotors and painting calipers. I also really want to replace the exhaust. I have Perrin tips, but knowing they are tips and not the real deal bugs me..
I would also like to get a body kit but I have a few months to go for that.

When it comes to major engine upgrades, I'm timid for three reasons. The initial cost for the kit/ parts, the installation cost and honestly having more engine than I'll ever need.

To anyone with other great ideas that are under the $500 price range that has either done it or really likes the idea of it, feel free to chat with me about it. I love forums for the many benefits it offers. So thank you for reading and for any input you have.

And lastly what's a thread without pics! here's a couple of my DGM Limited:

Love the way you keeping your car sporty but still true to its root. Once the wheels and springs are in I dont think you really need an bodykit as the brz has already an quiet agressive front that fits the car.

as for suggestions, maybe have a look at the valentis rear lights. The design resembles the front lights of the brz quiet good and quality is also awesome for the price.

You're modding the little things that I would do first....its called value modding :D

The clear corners, antenna, and exhaust tips make subtle but significant differences with the look of the car :happy0180:

17'' Enkie EV5's on the way... After my first car meet today, wondering if I should just go with 18's!!
And also my Perrin tips are a joke now that I've seen how it SHOULD look. Probably look into a Greddy axle-back exhaust.
Also picked up some sportlines, should be in by end of next week!

Not bad ... Rim choice could be better ...

Well? How about 5 recomendations. What's wrong with the EV5's?

Welp, with the help of the last car meet, I couldn't be in the minority as far as rim size, so I stepped up to the 18's, same Enkei I originally planned on.
Wrapped in Sumitomo HTR ZIII 225/40/18.
Now, to figure out what color to paint the calipers now that they stare you in the face.

As of last entry I traded navi bezzle and ornamentation with an FR-S as to get rid of more silver. I dropped with Eibach Sportline springs. Replaced the oval subaru emblem as I damaged my first one while debadging, (didn't know about the pin holes behind it).
I sold the tips and now am just waiting on my new exhaust to arrive. Really wanted the Perrin cat back Stealth Black exhaust but it seems to be on back order most places I call, not to mention a few hundred more than my original intentions. I am going with my initial choice, Greddy SP elite axle back, at least until I can get the Perrin.
Next weekend I may or may not open the headlights to paint and while the bumper is off, replace the girly horn.
I'm also in the process of smoking the tail lights following a DIY. There are a few steps that require cure, so I may not have pics until completely done but I'm hoping for the best.
Here's a couple pics of the drop.

The car is really taking shape now

How is the reception on the shorty antenna?

Identical reception! I have troubles in certain areas BUT I had the same troubles with stock antenna. Great investment on a mod that I haven't seen many do.

Blacked out with mirror finish tail lights also blacked out housing of triangle. Thought about relocating reverse lights into tails but for now just going to leave it alone.

aqua8701 06-01-2013 04:52 PM

I have no intentions for ever adding a fourth brake light so as you can see I removed the red triangle. Ultimately it would be nice to find a body kit pre-made to eliminate the light fixture down there.
EDIT*
Since last posting, I also got my Greddy SP Elite axle back installed plus 20% tint. Looking into Amayama for the Black trim for most the interior.
LED reverse on order and planning something hopefully next weekend with another 86'er to trade my BRZ front bumper with the FRS. While the bumper is off, black housing lights and adding a less girly horn.

aqua8701 06-10-2013 01:59 PM

Upgraded my 20% to 5% tint. Traded my black housed reverse light with a guy that tinted lens altogether. Now it matches the tail lights. Putting the bumper swap idea on permanent hold.
Might be ordering some rotors here in a day or two, really need to think about what color I should do my calipers ... Pics of all updates to come shortly.

Here's a pic of the 5% tint. Also had to redo the lenses because the paint decided to start peeling, so I went with the smoked out look that I originally wanted done in the first place. Also since last entry, installed a system. 12" JL audio sub with jl amp. Custom volume remote control install pic to come. I put it right next to the trunk release button, looks like it was made for the spot lol. A random pic with my car, my bike and my buddy's CBR.
