Red'd out tail lights
Anyone in northern va provide paint services? Looking to get my tails done in all red...

Just pick-up some red tint paint and spray the tail lights. It's easy to take off them.

Get them done professionally. I don't trust VHT, plus they give you a dull matte look.

I do this professionally as well. And if you do not wet sand or at least scuff pad the lights before paint you will get piss poor adhesion. I had my shops page listed in my sig but mods removed it :( . I am an automotive painter and have done plenty of custom lights. Mostly VW/Audi since that's what I specialize in. I have done my own frs tail lights though. If anyone wants more info on the process email me. Spitfire481@gmail.com . Not looking to get yelled at again by posting my shops info

thats temporary. if you dont keep wet sanding and polishing every 3-4 months it comes back. I had mine looking real glossy and it loses it |

That looks fantastic! I'd love to have this done one day. It's the proper way to do it and it shows. :w00t: |
House of kolor apple candy and ppg 2042 clear is what I go with. Def is the way to go for looks and durability
|
why not just use blue bat mobile vinyls ? Re moveable and no need to permanently mess up your housings.

Yea but also not permanent Oh well just a thought.

They are just tail lights. No big deal lol. Anything is better than stock anyway haha

Joe did an amazing job, came out better than I planned and he was local which was a huge convenience for me.

Here's an idea: Buy a set of tail lights. When someone (that might live outside your immediate vicinity ;) ) wants painted lights, charge them for the painting plus a core charge. Send him your first set of lights (painted). Require the buyer to return his original set of lights (in like-new condition) when he installs the red lights. Repeat. |

Here are a few more pics of the finished tail lights:

looks good. most pics dont seem to do them justice compared to in person. i have noticed that with the sets i have done as well. with the real apple candy and clear they look totally oem
|
yeah I agree pictures don't do them justice, you have to see them in person to really see the depth and clarity of them..
|
im also seeing a TON of diy's where the lights are not prepped. they really need to be sanded properly for a quality job that lasts. looks like there might be a good bit of half peeling all red tails in the classifieds in the next year or so haha.
|
Haha how longs the process take? And Orbital needs to do it so I can see it on WRB :P
