Here's an idea:

Buy a set of tail lights.

When someone (that might live outside your immediate vicinity ;) ) wants painted lights, charge them for the painting plus a core charge.

Send him your first set of lights (painted).

Require the buyer to return his original set of lights (in like-new condition) when he installs the red lights.

Repeat.

he's already doing that :)

Here are a few more pics of the finished tail lights:

Could you post some pics when you get a chance of them on the car with direct light on them? I'm interested in doing this too.

looks good. most pics dont seem to do them justice compared to in person. i have noticed that with the sets i have done as well. with the real apple candy and clear they look totally oem

frsguy707 05-15-2013 12:15 PM

yeah I agree pictures don't do them justice, you have to see them in person to really see the depth and clarity of them..

im also seeing a TON of diy's where the lights are not prepped. they really need to be sanded properly for a quality job that lasts. looks like there might be a good bit of half peeling all red tails in the classifieds in the next year or so haha.

Want to do it. Don't want to ship to Cali. Also want the turn signals taped off so that there's a clear square on the tail.

Theres like sticker wrap you can apply yourself. Kits of headlights etc, the ones you put water and use a heatgun i forget name lol. If you really interested i know a youtube channel that gives out coupon codes.

They work, but look like crap compared to painted lights (with quality materials)
