GT5 Stock GT86 Competition - February 2012

This is a friendly GT5 "buy and drive" competition in which we race the GT86 (bone stock!) on different tracks each month. Bring it!

I. TRACKS

1. Top Gear Test Track
2. Laguna Seca Raceway

II. RACING RULES

1. Stock car (no mods, aftermarket rims, tuning, aero, or anything!)
2. Traction Contol = Off
3. ABS = 0 or 1
4. Grip = Real
5. Stock Sport Hard tires
6. Driving line is allowed, but it's not recommended (it's just a crutch with little-to-no advantages)
7. No other aids
8. Oil change, engine rebuild, and chassis restoration are allowed
9. Valid lap times only
10. No cheating!

III. SUBMISSION RULES

Attach/link a screenshot showing your time and post your results in this format:

Controller =

• DS (PS3 dualshock 3 / SixAxis)
• 6AXS (PS3 original SixAxis)
• LDF (Logitech Driving Force)
• DFGT (Logitech Driving Force GT)
• G25 (Logitech G25)
• G27 (Logitech G27)
• 911GT2 (Fanatec Porsche 911 GT2)
• 911TS (Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S)
• CSRE (Fanatec CSR Elite)
• T500 (Thrustmaster T500RS)

Transmission =

• AT
• Clutch
• Paddles
• Sequential
• Buttons (MT for DS players)

Submissions will be accepted until midnight EST on the last day of the month. You can resubmit as you improve your laps, but only your best time per track per transmission will be listed (so if you want to submit for both paddles and clutch, you can).

IV. GHOST REPLAYS

This is optional, but feel free to attach your ghost replays. Post yours and ask for pointers. Or if you're good, help out the rest of us by showing us how it's done!

V. NOTES

merlin2111 is busy with school, so he said I could take this over. Kudos to him for starting this back in December.

Tracks are played in GT practice mode. Top Gear Test Track must be unlocked first.

Since January's thread died off half-way through the month, I figured we'd do two tracks for February (Laguna was already done in December, but was requested again and ranked 2nd in the poll).

Allowing drivers to submit for multiple transmissions is new this month.

Please PM me if I haven't added a time within a couple days (in case I missed it).

I screwed up hammerhead and the last couple corners and overall I was pretty sloppy... I'm sure I can shave 0.5-1.0 seconds off. Replay attached anyway.

My life sucks atm. Hopefully get some time to join in this month. I'll probably be rusty as a old lancia haha.

It's been busy at work, hopefully it slow down in few weeks to start playing GT5 again
