UPDATE APRIL 29, 2017 - VER 12.00.127 - 2017 03

Hi boys, here I am again, here the newest version of diagnostic tools for GT86/BRZ - Multilanguage.
This tool let customize (reset errors) some vehicle options like does EcuScan for Fiat/Suzuky and many others for Renault, Audi and so on.

NO need for online activation , .....simply follow directions selecting market (EU,JP or USA) in accordance to your vehicle market setup and insert what you can read inside file xxxx.txt

Warning:

as for all diagnostic/setting tools:
NEVER runs on a laptop NOT fully of battery charge!
NEVER disconnect cable when performing setting!
NEVER CLOSE program while operating!
NEVER RUNS under high power consumption (navi, fans and climate control or light)!
OPERATE with open door and half window(preferably)

The software runs a diagnostic for cable (preferable before starting each action).

All that you need need is a cheaper J2534 TOOL (cheap MINIVCI,ACTIA,KTS,etc).

These are drivers (transparent J2534, cheaper chinese): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...LE%202.0.1.msi

Coming soon :D

Sensisnow 05-05-2013 02:28 AM

Has anyone tried this yet? I know what the software is able to do, but I'm curious what other forum members have used it for so far.

FYI:
I have found the release notes for the current version:

https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo..._features.html

The best feature i can see from the list is AF/O2 Sensor Operation Utility

This function is used to fix the graph range of emission related items and display them side by side for detecting the failure parts easily.
To access the AF/O2 Sensor Operation, select: Engine and ECT (or Engine) / Utility / AF/O2 Sensor Operation

Great....so, is possible to verify damages due to fuel or wrong engine phases or cat emission failure. Useful for playing with ECU parameters......

Sensisnow 05-08-2013 11:53 PM

Does anyone know if you can use this program with the cable provided by ECUTek that is used to flash the ECU?

Micene 05-09-2013 05:49 AM

Thanks!! :)

derek1ee 05-15-2013 04:00 PM

Seems like it can program TPMS, that would be awesome! Wish they have something like that for STI...

M-17 05-15-2013 04:04 PM

Should be very helpful in the future. :thanks:

ecko04 05-15-2013 04:44 PM

Is there a mini-vci driver for windows 7?

zc06_kisstherain 05-15-2013 04:58 PM

I don't need this right now but wow! this will help a lot in future

LeeMaster 05-15-2013 06:16 PM

Is this similar to a tune? From the looks and sound of it, it seems like you can mess around with the settings of the car such as AF ratio...? :iono:

Not in the least bit. It's a diagnostic tool, not a tuning tool.

ShaunNeutron 05-15-2013 09:12 PM

Anyone have a source for a cheap cable? The ones I am seeing on Ebay are about $25 with the software.

ecko04 05-15-2013 09:55 PM

$25 isn't cheap?

I do have a spare cable though. I'll take $15 shipped for it. It'll go out tomorrow or Friday if paid before then via USPS Priority Mail.

ecko04 05-15-2013 10:12 PM

Back to the topic at hand. It's great to have the software but what about drivers for the cable for Win 7? Without that the software is useless.

Tim_Asphalt_FRS 05-15-2013 10:12 PM

Can we get a DIY of installing this? I'm trying to do it through BootCamp on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7 and it doesn't seem to work.

It doesn't work because you need mini vci drivers for Windows 7. From my search I cannot find any so I'm hoping the OP can chime in to provide them. Without the drivers for the cable the software is useless.

I can't even get past the registration window. I put in the number for North America from the .txt file and the window just pops up again.

So, will any OBD2 USB cable work?

I don't know what you mean by "work". We lack drivers for anything higher than Windows XP. So if you're running a 32 bit version of XP, sure it'll work because there are drivers for the cable. If you're running anything else, the Techstream software will load but without the drivers foe the cable you're unable to do anything.

You replaced the executable file with the one included to bypass activation?

If so, just put the registration number in and press ok. After I did that I got a 3000 hr "license". Still useless with the cable drivers but I'm looking into sourcing a Windows XP laptop just for this.

I do have a really old laptop w/ Windows XP. I may have to just use it instead.

With what drivers?

Gunman 05-16-2013 09:07 PM

Seems everyone is using the cable from China...I gotta say, I'd rather not order from China. Any US sources for the cable?

Would this cable work?
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/OBD2-Diagnostic-Cable-KKL409-1-VAG-COM/dp/B002WIN8VQ"]OBD2 OBD II Diagnostic USB Cable For KKL409.1 VAG-COM 409 : Amazon.com : Automotive[/ame]

Apologies, but I'm a noob when it comes to OBD2 stuff.

michaelahess 05-18-2013 02:07 AM

Cheap ebay cable works fine. I've been using this nearly since I got the car last July. All my laptops are win7 64bit so I just run xp mode and install the software in the vm. You can use any vm software, and then just find a copy of win xp if you don't already have one.

Has to be a mini-vci j2534 cable.

Ebay search for the above.

The ARM Processor is 32 bits on the MINI VCI 16Pin J2534 Cable

If I understand it correctly, no software fix will make the J2534\USB cable connector work on 64 bit. The hardware processor (the big central black chip welded onto the J2534 board) is 32 bit. :slap:

So, I doubt that there will be a 64 bit drivers for that hardware. Please correct me if my understanding is inaccurate - thanks. :bonk:

I would imagine that you could run 32-bit Windows XP in a virtual machine to make it work, or maybe even run the program in XP compatibility mode. I haven't tried either method though, so this is only a guess.

Yes of course, the VM option works.

My point was that waiting for a 64 bit software to work on the 32 bit ARM processor that is embedded onto the hardware is very doubtful.

The hurdle is the 32 bit hardware not the lack of a 64 bit software.
