Bluetooth antenna

Just wondering where the antenna might be and how others range is between the phone and car. Almost as soon as I get out of the car, my music starts to sputter. Even happens if I leave the phone in my back pocket while driving sometimes. The antenna signal meter on the radio shows one little bar most times. I am using an iphone 5.

So you are sitting on your phone while driving?

Sometimes, but I usually remove it and place in the cup holder.

Yeah. Mine cuts out too. Well actually the song stutters and pops, and the signal bar drops and comes back, then drops again. Just started recently, iPhone 5 too.

It is a far better bet to connect it via USB as you will get much better quality audio.

Just as a frame of reference, in my gf's 2010 Camry, I have to walk 20-30ft away before the music cuts out... seems like defect if it's cutting out while you're IN the car.

If you are connected to to WIFI while your Bluetooth is connected to the vehicle, the bluetooth cuts in and out. Soon as your turn off WIFI, bluetooth connection returns to normal.

I have an EVO 3d connected to my FR-S I can stand about 10 feet away from the car and it still plays flawlessly. My friend started the car and I was about that far away and he said that it was playing anime music automatically in the car without a USB.

I'm happy it annoyed him =)

I shall try this and confirm the next time I have issues...sometimes it cuts out even sitting in the cupholder...this sounds like it may be the culprit.

Btw, on some phones -- bluetooth and wifi uses the same radio. This is why it cuts out -- I'd use one over the other. Though if you're not near an AP with your wifi it'll auto sleep and shouldn't interfere.

Using a htc one and bluetooth cuts out around 15 feet. Use a aux cable though so I can take use of the built in amp in the phone.

I just find it odd that I can be in the car with my phone and not have full bars on the bluetooth display.
