Time to upgrade your servers?

FYI - for the last week or so the forum is taking about 30 seconds to load the front (root level) page - every time. Used to take 1-2 seconds.

More than once over the last few months I've tried to load the forums and had it hang, or even better gotten the IIS database error page.

Same here! I guess it's time for the server to get the three finger salute :bonk:

Aha - I thought it was just me - I've noticed the same thing lately, typically during times of peak usage. Seems to be less of a problem in the middle of the night or wee hours of the morning.

Until now I was always amazed at the speed and capacity of this site.

Same here also :p

Yup, I noticed this as well.

OrbitalEllipses 05-05-2013 07:46 PM

The frequency of database errors has increased significantly for me in the past few weeks.

Lonewolf 05-08-2013 11:35 PM

The site is taking about 3-5 times longer to load for me lately...and sometimes it just hangs as well.

rupert 05-22-2013 03:26 AM

There still seems to be some latency when I first visit the site. Subsequent page changes are fine.

I know we have some smart people on here. Is this something some of us could help out with? While I'm a SQL Server DBA, I wouldn't mind helping with what I assume is MySQL. Would we need to ask around for Linux admins? :D

maybe it's time for you guys to upgrade your internet, or turn the porn off when you are trying to get on the forum?

:)
