*** WHY PITL ***

PITL uses a very simple classification system for light differentiation in cars. There is no rule book, just a 1-pager on the website. This series is excellent for those that get put off the by complexity of SCCA.

PITL always take place at the same place, and it's close to the city.

The guys designing the tracks keep it fresh and tricky, you get SCCA-quality track design without the bullshit.

SUNDAY MAY 12, 2013

Event #1 of the CASC Autoslalom Series

http://www.casc.on.ca/autoslalom

location: Kawartha Downs, Peterborough, hosted by PMSC

https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=kawart...h&z=16&iwloc=A

*** WHY CASC SERIES ***

CASC uses the SCCA rulebook,

this means more classes and much tigheter rules, good for the uber-competitor who wants to bask in the glory of being the best.

arguably the best drivers show up for this, so if you do well, you know you're awesome

the venues are also quite large so you get to see relatively high speeds and interesting course designs. Picton in itself is a triangle airfield, average lap times are in the 2 minute mark!

the series takes you all over Ontario

* Event#1 Sun May 12 hosted by PMSC - Peterborough, ON (Kawartha Downs Speedway Oval)
* Event#2 Sat June 1 hosted by St.Lac - Picton, ON (Airport)
* Event#3 Sun June 2 hosted by St.Lac - Picton, ON (Airport)
* Event#4 Sun July 21 hosted by WOSCA - Centralia, ON (Centraila Airport)
* Event#5 Sat August 10 hosted by TLMC - Barrie, ON (Molson Centre)
* Event#6 Sun August 11 hosted by TLMC - Barrie, ON (Molson Centre)
* Event#7 Sun August 18 hosted by SPDA - Bowmanville, ON (Mosport Big Track lower paddock)
* Event#8 Sat September 14 hosted by SPDA - Hunstville, ON (Deerhurst Lodge)
* Event#9 Sun September 15 hosted by SPDA - Huntsville, ON (Deerhurst Lodge)

questions/concerns ask away

and remember, you're not cool if you're not out racing.

I'm a maybe... I'll be at Mosport all weekend this weekend and my wife's birthday is mid week next week so I might be busy next weekend.

Don't forget the TLMC event at Barrie Molson Center (or whatever it's called now) on Sunday the 12th.

PITL is great that's where I raced last year, sadly I'm out of town on the 11th so I'm going to try to hit the TLMC event on the 12th instead. Ideally I'd like to go to both lol.

TLMC details (I am in no way affiliated with TLMC, not even a member):

Definitely going to the 11th!

f0rge 05-03-2013 11:15 AM

I didn't see a single FRS out last year (I wasn't driving one either lol), let's have a good showing this year!

Will also be cool to see how we all stack up against each other.

automatic 05-03-2013 11:24 AM

I'll be at PITL, my 3rd year back.

My first 2 years were in a Mazda 3, should make things interesting in a BRZ this time :D

i was there for 3 PITL events and 1 CASC event last year

i was hoping to have some money saved up for tires this year, but alas

still gonna come out, so all you guys can use me as a benchmark as a bone stock FRS on OEM tires.

f0rge 05-03-2013 12:00 PM

My car is barely modded, just springs and wheels/tires. Although the tires make a HUGE difference.

I'm coming from a faster car, but I was terrible last year so I don't think I can do much worse lol. I only really go out for fun anyway.

Monday Bump

nothing's worse than to hear someone complain "ohh i wish i heard about this sooner"

Imranman 05-09-2013 06:40 PM

Hey, new user here. I'll be at the PITL event on May 11th (my first autocross event). I don't have an FRS but joined because you guys seem like a mature group which is often hard to come across in the car world.

I drive a 1991 Acura NSX. (FRS/BRZ is on the wishlist for a DD)

7thgear 05-10-2013 04:49 PM

BUMP

TOMMOROW IS PITL

ParangWala 05-11-2013 05:22 PM

You were the black NSX right? If so that was a nice ride although it was weird that your light popped out form the bumper didn't see how that happened.

For everyone else, I had an absolute blast at the event great fun. Saw a couple of other FR-S and BRZ there too but I was being anti social....lol
