Shipping Dent Repair
I took delivery of my BRZ two weeks ago, and insisted they kept the shipping wrap on. My intent was to take the car to Greg Gallas for correction and Opti-Coat with the shipping wrap on, but he didn't have an immediate appointment.
I removed the shipping wrap to find two dents - one small one on the front left fender, and one larger one on the trunk lid. After waiting for two weeks, the dealership's PDR guy finally came in today and fixed the dents. The fender dent is now imperceptible, but I can still tell that there was a dent in the trunk lid. I just don't know if this is enough of an issue for me to make a fuss about with the dealership to try to get a new factory trunk lid or not. Sorry for no before pictures and the blurry first pic... http://i.imgur.com/qR6FO2z.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cx73o2O.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CZxp9Vg.jpg I have to remind myself that this is a daily driver and will likely get some damage in the future. But still, it's a *brand new* car that I'm getting detailed and coated, and I even have on order a 4-layer car cover to prevent dings from acorns. Should I make a stink about this remnant of a dent? |
If it were my car, I'd fuss about it. Like you said, its a brand new car. But if you can live with it, then theres no reason to make a big deal about it. It wont hurt to see if they'll replace the trunk lid.

i would see if they would replace it, but i wouldn't try too hard to argue if they dont. you can always get a trunk spoiler to cover that right up :)
