Clear/Amber Side Markers

I recently bought clear side markers and while the lights are on they seem to be kind of yellowish.

Any ideas or ways to have it flash white white not dirty white?
Or amber..
I just want the light bright matched with headlights or a clear white color. Please help and thanks! :happy0180:

umm... change light bulb? did you just change the plastic?

I would leave the bulb amber, because it's probably illegal to have white side marker and white bulb. You need to have either amber side marker and white bulb or clear side marker and amber bulb, for safety issues.

It's because your original OEM bulb is a halogen-yellow. Originally, the orange/amber color was from the amber side marker. Ebay lots of 194 LED bulbs for cheap.

Now, you need to get either a white LED (194 bulb size) or amber LED. That will give you the pure white or pure amber color. In most states, the front side marker must be amber but it's unlikely you'll get a ticket for it (same as HID kits ,etc.)

So i just search up 194 LED bulb? Amber or white depending on what i choose?

You should be able to get the bulb at any car parts place. You want 194NA, you don't need LED it's up to you.

Halogen bulbs light up "warmer" (more yellow/orange) than LED. If you want WHITE white, get LED...plenty of vendors on this site for them, just check the GroupBuy section and you'll find a ton of them. They cost next to nothing, and are a great upgrade. Also good if you want a clear bulb that glows orange...so you can't see an orange bulb when it's off, but the light it emits is orange. Clean look while staying legal (in the case of a turn signal, for example).

Reading > me... I see you wanted it to look pure white, for some reason I thought you wanted it to look amber. 194NA will be an amber bulb, rather than the stock clear (which is a very warm clear as you have seen)

If you want pure white, then yes the other posters are correct you will want to go LED. Harder to find locally, I would try on ebay or through one of the vendors on this website.

I have the clear ones and white LEDs in them. (I'm in northern VA) haven't gotten any trouble for them yet. I don't think the police will pick at that, unless they're really looking for something to pick on you for.

If you want white, something like this:

Amber:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-T10-Wed...18b2ea&vxp=mtr

Keep in mind, there are various shades of white... like 5000k is pure white, 6000k is white with a hint of blue ,etc. Most of the white bulbs you see on the street are 6000k color.

Also, the 5-SMD ones are the best.. they look like this:

I made the mistake of getting the 9-SMD b/c I wanted a brighter light well they don't physically fit into the side markers.. they look like this, notice they're one step longer...:

If you're hesitant to buy from the eBay guys, you can talk to Meng Motorsports:

They have the LEDs you need and can answer any questions you have, but you do pay a price premium for them.

As for the halogen bulbs.. there are amber and white halogen bulbs but I went with the LEDs for mine. I noticed that the more you pop the side markers on and off, they looser they seemed to get (maybe I'm pulling them out wrong or something). I figured with LEDs, on average, they last much longer than the average halogen bulb. I didn't want to burn out a bulb in the future and have to go back into the side marker to replace it.
