Custom BBK using Project Mu parts and EvoX brembo calipers
 

This weekend I went down to my friends shop in Tampa to have some mods done. The biggest one was a full custom BBK. I will be posting a full writeup on my site soon but for now here are some preview pics.

PMU teal on Brembos? This is almost blasphemy!

I got approval from PMU, heck they suggested it.

What differences are there between the STI and EvoX Brembos?

The caliper is essentially the same. The back part with mounts is spaced slightly different hence why it does not line up and bolt on like the STI ones do.

Same pad shape. Same pistons. Different thickness pads/rotors. Different mounting ears/points/pickups. Possibly an external fluid crossover, but I forget. Bleeders are mounted in the correct position as the Evo Brembo caliper is mounted in the leading position rather than the trailing position.

There's a thread on NABISCO about using Evo calipers. Possibly one on RS25.com as well.

If you search up for the FATLACE FR-S, they did this color scheme very early on last summer and everyone seems to have liked it so far.

Looks good in this color! I'd do it. Especially since you said you do have some PMU parts on.

Big thing is that the mounts on the caliper don't line up with the holes in the upright. Notice how the article says it took a grinder, welding, and custom metal fabrication... no thanks. Do you really want to cut and weld something critical like the brake caliper or iron suspension upright?

Much, much better idea to just deal with swapping the bleeders on sti calipers.

Like I said, I would not recommend anyone else do it. Just get the STI calipers and swap the bleeders. Now the work done on my car is 100% safe, all done properly. Also it is not that far off so there was nothing major just a pain in the ass.

Looks good but the color probably wont last if you track them. In the evo world we used to call them brownbo's... the super hardcore track cars had blackbo's after a couple seasons. That was a super easy way to tell if a car had been tracked hard or not.

Did you re-drill the rotor to 5X100 or you order them?
