Upload 20,000 songs to Google then stream from anywhere

May be old news to some people but thought I would share.

Did you know Google Play Music allows for the upload of up to 20,000 of your own music which you can then stream from anywhere.

Its pretty cool, it scans your music to see if it already has it on their servers first then starts uploading the ones it doest have.

I'm currently uploading my collection of 16,000 songs.

I knew about this, but I have more music than that. I use a dedicated HTPC with 8TB of storage and Plex Media Server to stream all my pictures/music/movies anywhere :).

This is definitely a viable option for anyone with a small-medium sized library, though!

So far I like how the app works with the bluetooth and stock head unit. Actually shows the name unlike my pandora which would stay on one song title

I got google play when it was in beta and used it for about a few months. It's not so great for a limited data plan, but it's awesome if you have unlimited data!

thx. knew about it a long time ago, but service is always spotty around here with any carrier.

can alway set up ftp server and stream from your home computer/NAS. :D.

Or better yet, save to external HDD.

I've been using Google Play for a few years now, its brilliant. It streams all my music(all of it originally FLAC) at 320Kpbs, so it still sounds really good.

Been using google music for about a year.

I think I've fired up itunes about 5 times in twelve months and turned on my ipod even less. It's gathering dust behind my monitor now.

My galaxy nexus feeds me all my music now.

I will have to do a data usage comparison with pandora. Just half a day of driving around I used 636mb of data with google play. Not good for my non unlimited data plan on Verizon.
