Plus 0 tire sizing

This is my first post. Seeing that I am first in line for a BRZ at my dealership I thought I better join in. Does anyone know if a 225/45/17 tire mounted on the stock wheel will clear the housing and suspension without spacers? Thanks in advance.

No.

If it didn't, I'd be ridiculously surprised.

I cant see that being a problem.

Of course no-one has actually tried it, but that's a significantly shorter tyre than either the optional TRD fitment, or the ones fitted to the BRZ STi teaser.

Take from that what you will.

greddy fr-s : 225/35 R19 / 19x8.5 ET45 on front ;)

Stock 215/45-17 = 24.6" diameter
proposed 225/45-17 = 25.0"
track? 245/40-17 = 24.7"
winter? 205/50-17 = 25.1"
TRD +1 225/40-18 = 25.1"
Greddy +2 225/35-19 = 25.2"

Useful comparison. I am sure you know it already but for those that don't, the 245/40/17 size is not a plus 0 option for the stock wheel. It requires an 8" rim width.

BRZ STi concept is reported to have 215/45R18 fronts and 225/45R18 rears.

Hopefully that is functional on first run production models, although I'm not sure why someone with only 147kw would want to increase the gearing that much.

I'll be running 235/40 instead of 245/40. :)
