FRS Interior

The only reason i dont want a frs is because it doesnt have any features like push to start and the center nav. like the brz. I was looking around but couldn't find anyone who has modded their center consul like the brz or better. Just wondering what it would look like and how much it would cost. Any ideas or point in the right direction?

It would probably be difficult to mock the BRZ interior, so why not shell out the cash for the BRZ instead? It'd save yourself time and possibly money for the custom mods it would take to replicate the BRZ's dash and interior. For the BRZ, you even get HID's and LED DRL's.

Check out the link. You could always buy a carbon fiber 3M material and wrap your dash with it. It'd flare things up a bit. :)

I would second this with the exception of the "carbon" wrap.

If interior is your priority, then the BRZ Limited is where its at if I'm honest.

yea im really thinking about the brz limited. just wanted to see how the frs would look if i added a nav system and stuff of that nature. From what i read the brz nav sucks anyways.

You could always add a double-din navigation to the FRS, but there have been some fitment issues since the placement for the double-din is wider than usual. So there would be a little gap unless you could do some custom bondo- modding. Honestly, it would be a big PITA though.
Sounds like the BRZ is for you!

AR35 04-26-2013 11:49 AM

hahaha sounds like it. not a bad thing just was testing the waters lol

2014 FR-S Release Series. ;)

Rayme 04-26-2013 11:53 AM

If this is a deal breaker for you maybe you should consider another car lol

TylerLieberman 04-26-2013 11:54 AM

Could get an FR-S with Bespoke and download the cell phone app. I've used the nav system on my FR-S like 5 times already lol.

It's pretty easy to use as well

zaptorque 04-26-2013 11:57 AM

so get the brz then?

Dake 04-26-2013 11:58 AM

An FR-S with a BRZ console would like like a GT-86.

AR35 04-26-2013 12:00 PM

There are things i love on the brz and things i love on the frs, just trying to make it one. haha but i'll prob. just go with the brz limited

Agreed. I was ecstatic when I found out that it had BlueTooth pairing. That was more than I expected, honestly. But people have modded the radio:

Not sure what to tell you about push-button start. It's more of a gimmick than anything, but if you really want it, you really should consider just getting a BRZ, because retrofitting everything to work would probably cost more than the difference between the two cars.

Dont the 10 series FRS come with Navigation and push start button with the better looking JDM headlights?

FR-Slide 04-26-2013 12:12 PM

Is there some weird trick to getting BT turned on in the FR-S? I can't get my phone to locate the vehicle :(

And no, I haven't read the owner's manual. And yes, I probably should...

Exactly!

strat61caster 04-26-2013 12:43 PM

The first one I sat in had a touchscreen nav installed at the dealer, seemed to fit nice so that's possible.

IT CAN BE YOURS TODAY FOR THE LOW LOW PRICE OF MSRP + $4K!!!

There is no Release Series yet, only the Scion 10 Series (10 year anniversary).

But yeah, the Scion 10 Series has the push start, dual climate, and LED HIDs. Downside is the glowing badges, dash, and shift knob, and silver seat belts. Scion can't leave well enough alone, they always have to find some way to ruin things. EVERY TIME.

EDIT: Oh, they put in an updated nav unit/touchscreen, if I recall, too.

Tanuki 04-26-2013 12:52 PM

Really there aren't already threads about this?

mrlewistan 04-26-2013 04:50 PM

I dont see anything wrong with the interior... my previous car was a 1999 camry le and this is a big jump away from that.

If you want all the luxuries of the brz then, like everyone else said, get a brz.

Chaetagnath 04-26-2013 11:31 PM

You can install a push button, people have done it and there is a kit coming out soon for 600 bucks. You can probably get the same head unit if you want. YOu can even get leather/alcantara seat covers for 850 bucks which look just like the brz limited. However, so far the dual climate control is out of reach, so if that's what you want get the brz limited or scion 10 series.

Zaku 04-27-2013 12:11 AM

Go to your nearest Toyota Dealer and see if you can Order a 10 anni, that will prolly solve all your problems op. And will probably cost you lower than trying to put a BRZ limited dash in a normal FRS.

Now this is talking from the perspective that the 10 anni is priced in between BRZ prem and BRZ limited.

Good luck there's only a couple hundred of them lol and hope you dont' mind Ignition Silver, I think it's a beautiful color you might not.

The car is under 30k, there is bound to be some minor things you dislike, like I dislike how cheap the interior looks compared to other cars—but I got over it. Pull the trigger, buy either one, you'll be happy either way.
