Raceseng | Lightweight Billet Aluminum Tow Hook

We are in the process of developing a LIGHTWEIGHT, billet aluminum tow hook. Weighing in at .658 lbs, it is over a lb. lighter than the Cusco Steel tow hook which weighs 1.673 lbs.

Thanks for the compliments guys, much appreciated! See responses below

DESIGN - All billet aluminum, we actually pulled the car on asphalt with the ebrake on full lock. I focused on cleaning up the design but keeping a clean form and sound function. There is no huge jam nut used to orient the ring. We also implemented a detent system for horizontal or vertical position.

PRICE - I'm trying to keep it around the cost of the Cusco but the 7000 series aluminum alloy and all stainless steel hardware is adding up. I'm shooting for a $135-140 retail price range. All of this is dependent on how many we are able to sell and the cycle times when we move it to our production machining center.

COLOR - I've been thinking about this... I'm going to go with black anodizing on the shaft and adapter and your choice of black, red or clear anodizing on the ring.

Get a Group Buy going once its ready to be released please!!
Anodized Red looks weired .... u know kinda pinkish somehow....

Raceseng 04-25-2013 03:22 PM

The depth of the red all depends not only the type of anodizing but the dyes and acids used to etch the aluminum. We specify all of this with our anodizing vendor to make sure we get a deep rich red.

Group buy is a great idea!

Already in the works! We have some experience with making billet aluminum GoPro cradles and roll bar kits. We designed, developed and manufacture these for a client of ours Env System - http://store.envsystem.com
