Plastidip question!

Hey guys i know plastidip works perfect on smooth surfaces im wondering if it would work on textured surfaces? Like the one on the back of my car? I want to try and dipping it matt white since i have a white out but not sure if it would work?

Are you talking about the rear diffuser? I don't see why not. If youre worried about how it looks, you can peel/rub the plasti dip off anyway. Good luck!

It will work!! And if you don't like it, peel it off!!

Minovsky 04-25-2013 11:41 AM

I was thinking it might be hard to peel due to the texture? But I guess if it's thick enough it won't be a problem? :) haha I shall try it haha

You can use a soft brush to rub it off and it won't show any scratches.

Actually, it peels off easier when it's thicker. When it's too thin, it will peel in small patches over a few big ones.

Be sure to clean really well before applying. I would think the matte white would look out of place against the pearl, but who knows. Be sure to share pics!

Not sure if I still have pictures or not, if I can find em ill post em but I plasti-dipped a few parts on mine White with Pearlizer and Glossifier, it was like 90% color match but my OCD got the best of me and I peeled it. With that said, I absolutely love Plasti-dip, I have it all over my car, just make sure you put it on THICK, like way thicker than you think, 4-5 thick coats. Makes it so much easier to peel if you don't like it, and makes it more durable if you do.

don't worry about the aftereffects of peeling it off you're fine

i say go for it. POST PICS WHEN DONE :)

If you're not sure about the color matching, just spray a piece of scrap cardboard or whatever, and hold it up to the car once it dries.

I did white pearl plasti stock rims on my whiteout. Not a perfect match but looks real nice when they are clean. Get very dirty very easily.

Thicker the better. These have 8 coats total on them. 2 coats white, 4 coats purple blaze and 2 coats of copper metallic.
