FA20 or 4U-GSE ???

Hello everybody,

I was asking myself; if there is a deference between the FA20 or the 4U-GSE ?? in some magazine they say the FR-S have an 4U-GSE but at other place they say it's a FA20 ?? It's written FA20 on my FR-S block. so what's the real engine code of the FR-S ??

( sorry for my bad english )

No need to be sorry about your english. I get what you're saying. There is no difference between the engine codes FA20 and 4U-GSE.

4U-GSE is the engine code used by Toyota/Scion and FA20 is the engine code used by Subaru. Same 2.0L Flat 4 engine. All 3 variants of the car come out of the same Subaru Fuji Factory.

I believe Toyota were referring to the engine as a 4U-GSE before the cars release but now refer to it as the FA20 and use Subaru partno etc.
