Official Southeast 86 Thread

As everyone by now is well aware, the Southeast section of North America doesn't have as big of a gathering of 86 owners as some of the western states Texas, California, and Nevada have. With that being said myself and @Sportsguy83 have created the Southeast 86. We have a facebook Group page. If your in our region, have facebook, and have an FR-S or BRZ, then come to the group and ask to join. An admin will get you approved ASAP! If you don't have a Fascebook account updates, details, and events will be posted on here as well.

Now all of you go click 'like' it will make it easier for all the 86 owners in the South East plan meets and events.

Good idea. Even the Central FL group is small :\

So far the Facebook page has been open for 2 hours and we're up to 16 likes. Keep it coming people. WE NEED MOAR!

Wouldn't it have been beeter to just create a group instead of a page? Then we can all have private conversations, upload pics, be considered a group, and get notifications. I'm a part of Vegas86 and its a closed group page and it works very well.

Yes and no. All of the above can be done true. But anyone and everyone can come in and go. On FB everything can be consolidated into one area, not multiple threads. Idk about y'all but I only have internet on my phone and I can't upload pics, only notifications I get are PMs, thanks, and quotes. As mentioned before, I am apart of Vegas86club and we have our own FB group. I'm not sure how to explain it but it just works and flows much better. I'm not saying leave this forum by any means. Just offering an alternative that honestly is easier in almost everything, at least for me and my stupid windows phone. Plus on FB you will get a notification any time someone post anything in the club. I don't get that here even on the threads that I'm subscribed too. However, on a page that you only like instead of being invited to, you don't get notifications to who posts on there.

I have created a registry for Kentucky and Ohio. Haven't named it yet

L3P47 04-24-2013 10:09 PM

The page was created as a way for us to reach out to all who own a FR-S or BRZ. Keep in mind not everyone that owns a 86 is on this forum. Therefore, we created a Facebook page. Having it being a page was chosen by the creators. Nothing wrong with it being a group either, just what we chose. Regardless, since it's activation this morning it has seen 21 likes and an unbelievable amount of traffic. I believe this is a good start for the 86 nation.

Pin Flare 04-24-2013 10:58 PM

Agreed, and for the record I never ment to say that starting a page was the wrong answer at all. I'm just giving. Feed back. Can we add the Harbison meet this weekend to the events list on there?

L3P47 04-24-2013 11:18 PM

Wasn't saying you were saying anything wrong. Was just trying answer all the posts. Send me the details in a PM and I'll post it in the morning.

Don't worry I'll be adding to the CFL soon enough:thumbup:

In Northern Alabama, there I am routinely the only FRS that shows up for anything. Not that I mind the "exclusivity" but hanging with other owners would be nice for a change.

Looks like I have to make a Facebook page now!

Scott
