Top Synthetic Oil for FRS...opinions?
The dealerships recommend you come in every 7,500 miles to have them change your oil, which I might do when that time comes around. However, I would like to bring in my own purchased oil and then have them change it.
I keep reading that changing the FRS' oil frequently (every 1,000 to 3,000 miles) early on is highly recommended in order to preserve the cars life. So, what is the top oil for my FRS? I have heard great things about Amsoil but would like some suggestions and if possible, please be specific. Explanations are more than welcome. Thanks! |
stick with the toyota oil. It actually is one of the better ones you can use :happy0180:

I hear sugar and caffeine (Starbucks works well) works great in these engines. It gives humans lots of energy, so why not our cars?

Number of top oils = number of opinions. I go with what the dealer puts in under the maintenance plan because its FREE and it's synthetic.

There actually are a lot of threads on this already, if you want suggestions, there's dozens.
Since this type of thread pops up multiple times each year, I'll give you the consensus. Some people are oil elitists and believe a specific brand is light years better than anything else on the planet because of some number on it's data sheet, their dad is an oil engineer, or because they used some other oil and it caused their engine to explode. Avoid the fanatical OCD approach and just stick with any major brand known for a good quality full synthetic. |
