track rim set up

hey all I'm looking to get some info on fitment on rims for a track/ autocross set up and after looking through a few threads have been brought back to square 1.

I was thinking of getting the RPF1s in a 17x9 set up but after reading have found out that they would not clear a BBK. the light weight of these rims is ideal and the price is also pretty good. anyone have suggestions for something that is similar in weight and price that would clear a BBK and will sit flush?

17x9 RPF1's can be found with 2 different offsets: +35 and +45.

The +45 17x9 5x100 RPF1 is the most common (production model), but can cause tire on strut rubbing issues (with stock suspension) and inability to fit a BBK without spacers.

The same wheel in +35 offset will clear the stock struts just fine, and sit back far enough to clear most BBKs. The downside here is that the wheels will "poke" out in the front (on stock suspension), but that is easily fixed by adding some negative camber.

There are a few vendors running GB's on 17x9 +35 RPF1's in the classified section.

You mean wheels. The rim is the edge of the wheel. Lol I'm just trolling you. There was a pretty big discussion on the topic though.

Here's another option:

Weds TC105N: 17x9 +35

FT-86 Speed Factory has a few sets of the +35s coming in. I was going to go that route but I really wanted black wheels so I did the +45s from Tire Rack. I get them tomorrow. I ordered some 10mm spacers in case they rub... I am running the stock suspension.

The Mach V Awesome is supposed to clear STI Brembos. 42mm offset would "poke" less. Plus, they're named the "Mach V Awesome".

TC105N are between $1700 and $2100 generally.

well if the rpf1's will clear with a +35 offset then that seems to be the best route

They clear fine. Thats what we run on both cars.

Silver car has black ones with AP Sprint kit: 17x9 +35 RPF1 5x100

Red Car has silver ones with stock brakes right now. 17x9 +35 RPF1 5x100

Both are running 255/40/17 Hankook RS's and this weighs in at only 1lb more per wheel than the stock set up and adds a ton of tire. :)

they put all this effort into making the wheels light you would think someone would come up with some lighter high performance tire to go with them...

Depending on the tires you get, you'll definitely need the 10mm spacers. I haven't measured mine, but by feeling I barely have 10mm of clearance between my tires and the lower spring seat with 17x8 +45 and 225/45's.

Stiff sidewalls don't come light :(

BTW, if you want your wheels now, the WedsSport's aren't the best option. Their north american warehouse is completely sold out of 17x9 tc105n's, and the next shipment isn't until late may/early june, I believe.

I ended up installing the 5x100->5x114 conversion 10mm spacers on the car.
I have the 17x9 +45 RPF1's in SBC with 245/40/17 RS-3's for track setup.
Don't have to deal with limited availability with 5x100 wheels!
