Tracking FR-S with Rocket Bunny Kit
Has anyone tracked the FR-S with the rocket bunny kit? Just wanted to hear the pros and cons.
also what wheels are you using with the kit on the track and wheel specs? thanks!! |
I think most people (in the states) will have that kit for car shows only. Sad but true.

Unless its a turbo or supercharged, I would bet an 86 would be SLOWER around a track with that kit on it.
The reason I say this is because it adds a ton of weight to the car, and the byproduct of downforce is drag. It would be all show, no go. Scott |
Not to mention I've heard it's an expensive kit. Would suck to damage it.

I am assuming you have complimentary wheels to fit under those fenders... which adds rotational mass/weight and friction from the wide tires. So it would be slower than a stocker for sure.
If you have FI or a bigger motor that takes advantage of the extra grip possibilities then ya it should be great. |

This kit would slow the car down around a track unless you had the power to back it up. I like to post this picture because this is the new Continental Tire, Grand Touring, ST-Class race car from Rebel Rock. For those of you not familiar with this class, its pretty hardcore and these cars have had a lot done to them, mostly in weight reduction. Notice, no aero, no wide body kit and this is a full-on race car. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...psec1519f3.jpg Scott |
Forget about speed, just add body kits. As long as it looks fast no one is going to check.

Yes it will def be turbo charged.. I have some show wheels in mind but nothing for the track.. I was hoping to find some 17x10s but it's been kind of difficult..

The kit is more for looks than function. The front flairs expose the front tires which will add drag. The widebody will add drag also. It is more of a drift type look where high speed is not needed.
The Rocket Bunny kit screams boulevard cruiser or show car IMO. |

No arguments that this kit was made with aesthetics in mind though, just trying to call it how I see it. |
