HKS Supercharger

I've been reading up on this forum about forced induction for awhile now and I'm pretty much set on going with a supercharger. The obvious solution is to go with Vortech and I'm also interested in going to Evasive and having an HKS supercharger installed. This will be for a daily driver and I'm more interested in reliability than peak power. I plan to redo the fuel at a minimum but may change out more in the future to pull out a few extra horsepower but I'd assume that tune for tune I'm going to get close to the same numbers with the Vortech being slightly higher because it has a centrifugal blower.

Anyways, I'm in no way an expert and really just want to have more power in my BRZ as I drive around town. I'd love some advice on why to get one or the other. At this moment I'm leaning towards HKS because I've heard it has more mid range power and Evasive is nearby so if I have any issues I have somebody to take it to immediately.

I would recommend Innovative' SC system if they weren't so sketchy about showing any numbers. It's much cheaper than Vortech, should have more torque
and looks very OEM.

If your looking to buy now Visconti has a pretty good sale on the vortech unit and has a pretty good bundle that includes the smaller pulley/injectors/pump. Really have not seen much data on the HKS unit but id imagine its a quality piece.

It's not sketchy. It isn't ready for release, therefore they don't have horsepower numbers.

Lets assume I can get them both at the same price and availability just for the sake of the better choice.

Except that it is ready as both Bullet and Cusco are selling them. You don't produce this many units of a product still in development:

Yes. Fits under OEM hood and retains OEM intake box.

It sounds like a software issue in the ECU causing problems, rather than a hardware issue.

What's the difference in reliability between a turbo and an SC? If I go for a turbo I'm most likely going with the Avo stage 1, and at 7psi max it doesn't sound like it would have that much of an effect on reliability.

I'm waiting on the innovate SC myself

It's not as simple as that, but you're best off creating a separate thread to discuss it before a turbo vs. supercharger war breaks out between the peasants.
