NYC / LI Area Vortech

Anyone around NYC / Long Island got a Vortech kit on the way? Would love to see and/or help out with the install if so. Mine's on order and if I could get some hands-on experience of the install before I receive it, that'd be pretty helpful. Thanks!

Not sure where in NJ you're at, but if it's close to NYC and you're interested in having an extra pair of hands available for the install, let me know. I'm in the middle of LI so it'll be a trek either way, but if it's close enough perhaps it could work out.

yup i actually live near NYC and work in NYC. I'm in Jersey city so as soon as you get out of the holland or lincoln its about 10 mins depending on traffic.

I wouldnt mind an extra set of hands at all, the more the merrier i say, we can even have a BBQ at my house and have other members come by if they'd like!

I'm on River Rd, Edgewater NJ. Might be getting a BRZ to compliment the FRS- I could help out and what not. Got a Turbo FR-S myself.

I recently had a chance to work with one of these kits. It's surprisingly easy to install. Honestly the hardest part is removing the bumper and I've done that a few times now.

If you're thinking of doing an install/BBQ I may be able to come. How are you on tools? You don't need much but a ramp or jack stands helps a ton when it comes to bumper removal.

I could leave my FR-S at home and toss a grill in the back of my jeep..... :)

LoL, we're going to have a BBQ meet just to install an "easy to install" supercharger lol. Anyone got a portable dyno? Let's go all out :D

p00mba 04-23-2013 04:09 PM

I have a good set of ratchet set and a couple breaker bars.

I have 4 jack stands so that won't be an issue and a nice low profile jack that i just recently purchased from harbor freight!

let me know and we can get this going, as far as the dyno, if someone has a portable one why not? lol

At this rate, we might generate enough interest to have each person bolt on a single part and call it a day ;)

When do you plan on doing the install?

Will there be beer?? LOL

Chewie4299 04-23-2013 05:10 PM

lol I was half joking. It's barely a two man job.

p00mba 04-23-2013 05:19 PM

Of course there will be beer! liquor store literally across the street from my house.

As far as when i'm doing the install, as soon as i get the goods i'll be ready to start whenever.
