Baffled oil pans?

anyone know if there are any baffled oil pans out for the FA20? Or know if it shares the same pan as other boxer? Because I know a few make them for wrx and sti, but don't have a way to compare. Thanks!

Think I found my answer, disregard the question please.

Looking at the engineering of the engine and with my goal of tracking the hell out of the car realized that through searching other subaru forums and posts about the boxer engine the oil system isn't as "bad" as other engines in regards to pick up. Thus the reason I was looking for a better baffled tray. But the issue more or less lies in the system getting oil back to the pan for pick up. Haven't had much time on the car yet just doing my typical window shopping and planning stage of the build. If I do find something that works. Ill post it up for sure.

Some of the track guys with semis are seeing the need for a baffled sump. The toyota racing Nz race series, run standard power, full slicks, and toyota racing designed baffled sumps. Was talking to their engineers yesterday at the first race event, and they said it definitely is required with their level of grip.

Although some good news is that he told me they're going to bring their design to market, they're just going through the motions of copyrighting it.

Don't expect it to be cheap though.

Wow, under 90 bucks for the baffle plate. Not bad, if you really think you need that sort of thing.

Kodename47 11-11-2013 05:42 PM

That is a great price. Does it need welding in?

They actually have a revised version on their site now as well.

Baffles + accusump is good insurance if you are racing. Boxer engines have notoriously oil scavenge problems.
