Military rebate

For all of the military folks :

I hope this 1) is still around when the FR-S is released and 2) doesn't exclude the FR-S since it will be a new model.

Also, i checked out the Subaru site, didn't see anything pertaining to military sales. The internet access I have here is very anti-flash so maybe you can see more than I can.

Just as a heads up, check out direct pricing through USAA, if you're a member. I was shocked at how much it took off of a brand new 2012F350!! Took pricing down to $48k from $54k.

It was better pricing than I could get on an end of year 2011 F350 with rebates and my X-plan.

That sounds pretty awesome.. I'll have to check it out. USAA just keeps surprising me.

Yeah. I used the USAA Auto Circle program last year to buy my wife's car and it saved us an extra couple $k off plus rebates. I wound up getting the car for $7000 off msrp.

also you have to remember most dealerships give a military discount even. usually they wont combine them but they will give the greater discount to you.

and ya USAA is good stuff. one of the guys i work with got totally smashed and called them to have them tow him home and they did it even though nothing was wrong with his car.

I was looking into this as well, im no longer active duty since jan 2010 but i think im still technically inactive reserve for another year or so .....it would be nice to have a grand bumped off the top.....but being the latest greatest model i doubt it, i think gm does the same thing by excluding the z06 from rebates as well.....

TylerLieberman 01-27-2012 09:12 AM

Nice. Didnt know usaa did that. Ill look into that.

Would that still work though due to scions "pure pricing"?

Homemade WRX 01-27-2012 11:38 AM

^^It trumped my current X-plan discounts, combined with Ford's truck month (year end blow out) rebates and a bit of haggling.

I don't think Scion's pure pricing will be effect it being available. Perhaps the percentage it takes off.

TylerLieberman 01-27-2012 12:20 PM

So to do it, do you have to be insured through usaa or just current active service?

Homemade WRX 01-28-2012 03:31 AM

need to be a USAA member.

Hopefully this will apply to the FRS. If not I will still buy one

I spoke with a local Scion dealer and they told me the $1000 Military Rebate was for all Scions and that it would most likely include the FRS. I was looking at the BRZ but with a $1000 rebate and a cheaper price to begin with I might take this route. I also like the fact that a Supercharger might become available.

AzFranz 06-02-2012 07:46 PM

It applies to FR-S...Bought mine 5-31-12 and used it no problem. Don't let any dealers tell you different. Funny a guy in my shop bought a BRZ, same day, and he had to haggle the crap out of them to get 750 "off" the price.
