Eibach sportline springs with stock shocks

Can I run the springs on stock shocks or will I have to get koni shocks?

f0rge 04-22-2013 06:18 PM

you can run on stock shocks no problems.

just a heads up you'll want to budget for some rear end camber correction with these springs.

I rode on Sportlines and stock struts/shocks for 4k miles... Rode nice, but I can't really speak for longevity as they're not being used anymore... however, they were still functioning normally...

Can you elaborate? This is first car and I don't understand anything about the wheels and camber. Like when it's like 17x8.5 +35. I don't understand that lol.

Also, I plan on running the springs with stock wheels as well

Did you have any clearance problems? For like driveways, bumps, and dips?

OmarGC 04-23-2013 06:25 AM

Not really

CSG David 04-23-2013 02:56 PM

Our car is lower than Robispec's car right now. Clearance is still not much of an issue...:)

Yeah, because of the way the suspension is designed, when you lower the car there is an excessive amount of negative camber on the rear wheels. What that means is that the wheels are tilted in at the top beyond what the manufacturer specs recommend. You will need to get lower control arms or some other form of adjustment to bring the camber back closer to stock. Side effects of not doing this are possible increased tire wear and possible negative impacts on handling.

The specs on those wheels mean:
17 is the size in inches of the rim, diameter.
8.5 is the width in inches of the rim
+35 is the offset.

I just received my Sportline springs the other day. I too am also new to modifying suspension. I have not purchased anything besides wheel spacers and the Sportline springs.

What else do I need to invest in? Do I need front camber bolts? Or just rear?

Which do you recommend?

I'm in the same boat. Any recommendations?

I ran them for awhile without rear camber adjustment. Not ideal but...

Personally I'd suggest adjustable UCAs like the RacerX setup.

Do you already have the Sportlines?

I was actually about to buy some later today once I get out of work.

I was also looking into Pro Kit's too but can't find info on whether they'd need a camber kit as well or not.
