Mach V Springs Review
Mach V review :
My First impression : -The car feel like with the stock springs but maybe a little bite more comfortable -He turn on a dime -The springs rate is perfect, not too stiff -The height is perfect also, not too low -No clunk at any corners -The car feel a little bite more stable and neutral during hard turn -You don't need to buy any camber kit because you don't have too camber, it's just perfect in my opinion. Of course for a better performance or an more agressive setup, camber kit is needed, at least front camber bolts) -The stock shock feel perfect with these springs I need an alignment to check and correct the front and the rear caster but for now the care feel very good without an alignment. Installation : -Very simple to install, we have take at least 3 hours and we have torque all bolts and we use anti-seize on each, we have winter here.... -You only need to cut the first lower ring of the bump stop, Dan, correct me if am wrong. Maybe, Dan, you can make a little documentation and include it with the package. I have used the Hotshkis pdf. Quality and shipping : -Very fast shipping and good quality -Cheap price Thanks! Edit 2014 : A year later and now am using the car into the winter for a DD since 1 week. This set of springs is perfect. I will suggest to perform a good alignment after installing springs because the OEM alignment suck a bite... I mean also with the stock springs... You just need to take care sometime when the road is bumpy, but apart of that, you can keep this drop for all seasons. I rarely scrape and it's never serious. Try it, am sure you will love it! Now I plan to upgrade my sway bar to be able to play with the understeer oversteer feeling. I think at the end i will have a good setup. I tested the springs on the track also, feel very good but it will be better with a good set of sway. The car feel a little bit more understeer, but in general, the feeling is neutral. This is why I suggest to use sway... http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...ps98e398c6.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5ce29c56.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9f0c1f4c.jpg Edit October 2014 : I have now sway bars since January and the feeling is perfect, you can play with the understeer and oversteer. With my setup, the car is just on the sweet spot between understeer and oversteer. Rear : 16mm Whiteline with link and braces middle hole Front : 25.4 Hotchkis soft hole Resume, springs with sways bars =👍 |
I run them. They are a fair amount stiffer than stock, and lowers the car about an inch. Oversteer seems to be reduced slightly.

I have them but havent installed them yet. ML did you add camber bolts?

Mach V Springs Review
I just order it, i will take pictures and make a review soon.
I have read a lot of good comments on wrx forum about this Company and this vendor. They are supposed to be a little bite more stiffness compare to the OEM and drop the car around 1 inch on the rear and 0.75 on the front, i think for me it' the perfect spot. I also looked for Hotchkis and RC but i have prefered to go with Mach V to try and because i love the height they drop and the stiffness they have. I just don't want to go to low because this is my DD and where i live, we have winter. |
