Atleast they make very real-like simulators. It'll be worth the wait IMO.

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/01/gran-turismo-5-delay/ it's not that big of a deal. i'm gonna be too busy with school this semester and fallout 3 (with all the DLC) to start in on GT5 before summer anyway. -Mike |
more recent reports (including this one below) are now saying early Nov 2010... and it has nothing to do with the game development... as long ago as June 2009 in an interview with Eurogamer the head of development, Kazunori Yamauchi, said that "We've actually reached a point where we can probably release [GT5] anytime, except that you can also keep working as long as you want to as well, it's just a matter of timing."
So you know it's just Sony Marketing timing it for Christmas PS3 sales. Quote:

I actually got fired! Apparently 6.25 an hour and 8 hours a week wasn't enough motivation to make me stop coming in 10 minutes late on every shift.:bellyroll: What a joke of a job. SM took it waaayyyyy too seriously. And yes, reserves are everything, right next to recently released used game sales. Also, anytime Gamestop lists something as "(month) 1st", that means they expect it to come out sometime that month, not literally the 1st. |
Wasn't this announced in the PS2 era? Oh well im an Xbox guy anyways.

The one I worked at used to be a Funcoland, and it was freekin' awesome. Then Gamestop bought them out, shipped out the PS1, SNES, Genesis, and NES games, and made it 'newer' games only. I never got to work there when it was Funcoland. It was, of course, a fun job, and if you think I'm good at arguing about cars, then you would've enjoyed the conversations I had with one of my co-workers. Hilarity would ensue and sometimes customers would jump in to make it even better. However, after the holiday's, they actually hired two more people along with the normal hour cuts that come to retailers in January. "WTF? We don't NEED 4 GA's...." is what I thought, and they pretty much made my already poor hours turn into "lol, this is a job?" Ironically enough, by staying at Gamestop as long as I did, I had to trade in my: PS3, PsP, DS, PS2, and a gajillion games just to make payments on bills. By the time I left Gamestop, all I had left was my PS1, some PS2 games I would never never trade in, and all of my really old school stuff (SNES, Gensis +games, etc.). Back on topic: Holiday release, almost guaranteed. Its alright though, I'm still not really tired of GT5P. |

we'll believe it when we see it... maybe the REAL FT-86 will come out before the GT5 version!!
Report: Gran Turismo 5 "autumn" launch revealed by Sony exec by Chris Shunk (RSS feed) on Feb 4th, 2010 at 10:01AM http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....over-630op.jpg Guess what? Puxatony Phil saw his shadow and Sony announced another delay for Gran Turismo 5 in the same week. Oh, the irony. In an interview with Spanish site Canarias Al Dia, CEO of Sony Entertainment Portugal James Armstrong reportedly revealed another disappointing delay for the highly anticipating driving simulation game. Armstrong allegedly said Sony is aiming to have GT5 on store shelves before Christmas, and that the "priority is to make this game with the best quality as possible." Does this mean that Sony and Polyphony Digital are struggling to work out bugs before the all-too-important game is unleashed on the consumer? It sure sounds that way. If you're at all like us, you're wondering by now whether GT5 will ever see the light of day. The highly hyped, multi-format racing game was supposed to be released in the fall of 2009, then in March of 2010. Now we're talking sometime before December. Note to Sony and Polyphony Digital: Don't publish truck loads of teasers, videos and screen shots more than a year in advance of the big kid console version of the game finds its way onto store shelves. It's just mean. |
