Removing the Spoiler?

Hi guys! I'm new here.

I'm looking to get a 86 but the dealer only has one with the Aero kit which has the huge wing which I'm not a big fan off.

I am not a fan of welding and repainting nor it might be easy to do a trunk swap in my area. Would it be possible to buy another OEM trunk or a Carbon Fiber trunk and switch it out so I can have a wingless trunk?

Is it easy to get OEM parts? If carbon fiber parts, which would you guys recommend?

Thanks!!!

Have the dealership order another car without the kit.

There are tons of carbon fiber options out there, you can get the stock or CSL look from a couple of companies. That said, I'm sure you could either swap trunks or just order a new one and have it color matched. I wish I lived closer, I would trade you trunks.

I agree. Why pay for something you don't want/need?

Yeah I wish I could option it but its a 2012 model and they are selling it at a discount.

Then just buy it. Personally I think it looks beastly, but if you don't really want it then here are some things you can do.

1. Buy another trunk to replace it
2. Take it off (But there will be holes on the trunk)
3. Trade with me for my trunk :)

If that's the case, find another local member who is willing to swap trunks with you.

He is from a different country, for example, Japan has 2012 BRZ/GT86 models instead of 2013. You see, we are a year ahead of Japan.

Good thing that's a GT86 and not an FR-S.

Honestly, I dont get why our new model cars represent the year after the production year. I think that if the first batch was produced in 2012, it should be considered a 2012. Damn American, whoever started building cars in the US screwed up the numbers(Sarcasm).

im sure you can find some guy that will trade trunks with you.
