Nothing else matters...sell a kidney, smash open a parking meter, whatever it takes, just get a helmet :D

Calidrifter 04-18-2013 12:59 AM

They arent that expensive. Just dont go to a couple of meets and save that gas money to buy the helmet instead.

Yes, we are planning remote events, but let's just get these few So-Cal events under the belt and see if we can dial it in to better cater to everyone. This is just a pilot event and I have to plan and review a lot of details from driver levels to vehicle prep lessons. :)

You MUST know somebody who rides a bike. Just borrow one for ONE day. :)

Addendum post.

This will be a very novice event with drills in car control, communication with the car, in both classroom and driving lessons. It's not a full on drift or race track event as this series will take you step by step teaching you confidence and also risks, and costs as you move up through these training with may future events.

For this first one, it's a small sample group, and intimate. Driver Ken Gushi and Hubert Young will also assist along with me in instructor level advice.(and to meet all you fans of the FRS Scion Racing, Greddy Team...)

Just as when we grew from Drift Day students to Formula D drivers, and from SCCA local autocross to National Championships in the AE86, we'll teach you how to do it all over from the start with FR-S. :) Take it to where you are comfortable, I am sure everyone will find a happy point along the road, and we can cater to all levels in separate events, repeatedly in to the future. :)

For those that registered, see you all there! Feel free to come and see on the day of the event as well. $10 will be charged to everyone who comes into the venue and that's beyond the control of us since that's AutoClub Speedway taking admission, but I am sure you will forget that cost once you see and feel what the FR-S is all about, and learn how to communicate with it and become one with this car.
It's also a great way to compare the old AE86 as you watch both FT and AE siblings go about the many exercises.

one note: This is a very tight venue in which we have some novice drivers in training. So for spectating, PLEASE follow the instructions of the venue staff to keep yourselves safe distance and away from restricted area. Photographers, please take spotters with you (another guy that is NOT looking through the camera) so you can warn of oncoming hazards.

Go PRO camera are OK to use, but keep in mind you are here to learn, and not show off a display of skills to others. That can come in many future events where I will make the situation suited for much more grand display when the time comes, and your skills are up to par.

If a helmet is your only issue, I have a spare that you may borrow.
