Not surprising.

Toughest to acquire as well...

Yeah...definitely doesn't seem to be too many dealers interested in negotiating on price. A friend who's looking for a BRZ sent them a much lower quote, asking if they could match....never heard back. Some though are out there that don't BS and have really good prices (at or below invoice). The determined will prosper in this case.

In the area where I live, Subaru marks up their BRZ's $6,000 - $8,500.
So the asking price is around $33k - $36k

Psh. Down here, the FR-S are marked up higher than the BRZ. One of the reasons why I got a BRZ

i would never pay that much over. Its going to drop like crazy once next year model comes out, this is a very small group of people who want these cars. So we will either have them or want the 14's once they are out. Just wait...

No surprise... hehe

Demand is far greater than supply, no dealer wants to discount a car that everyone wants and that they aren't likely to get any more of. Even New England now only has 40 cars on the ground across 63 dealers, and that number may include pre-sold cars.

slobaru86 04-17-2013 04:31 PM

I supposed i'll wait til the 2014 model comes out to get one, not paying more than 26k :/

King Tut 04-17-2013 04:54 PM

I would think the GT500 would top that list.

I think our original group buy group waited something around 3 - 4 months for our cars to arrive. Paid MSRP. I was used to ordering cars from Europe where you know the exact date your car come in to port. Needless to say, I rented and borrowed a family member's car for those months while my car came in, because I sold my previous car thinking that the BRZ would arrive sooner. Worth the wait though.

It really depends on your location. There are 7 BRZs at my local Subaru dealer & they are selling below MSRP. And other dealerships have +3 sitting at their lots. This is the NYC area.
