Lowering Question
Rims: Rota Grid, 18X8.5 + 44 front, 18X9.5 +38 rear,
Tires: Michellin Pilot Super Sports, 225/40/18 front, 255/35/18 rear I have the above steup on my car for wheels/tires and was wondering what issues I need to be aware of when planning to lower. Originally I was going to go with coilovers but since I daily the car I think I just want to do lowering springs and was planning on going with the Tanabe GF210 since that seems to be the smallest drop available, .6 front, .9 rear. I've seen some people with a similar wheel setup do a full inch drop all around and report no rubbing/issues so I was wondering if I could expect the same success with the Tanabe product or if other mods were needed to make sure it handled properly and no rubbing etc occured. Thanks for the help! |
im on eibach sportline which is 1.4 with same set up and no rubbing here

I have the same setup. I installed Eibach Sportlines previously with the stock wheels because they offered the biggest drop on springs, and loved it. Since upgrading to 18s though, it seemed to add a bit of wheel gap and it's driving me nuts. Now i'm personally the type who loves slammed & stanced, so maybe my opinion doesn't apply. As far as drivability on what I have, its perfect. No rubbing, even slamming into potholes doesnt hit the fenders. I'll be switching it up to coils soon enough though...

I have Rota Grid 18x9.5 e38 with 255/35/18 all the way around and am dropping my car this weekend on the Eibach Sportlines as well. I will update u as soon as i can get them installed. I talked to Zoeb and he runs my setup on his car with the sportlines and he said there is no issues at all. So, Im not expecting any rubbing when i complete the drop.
