I'm following up like mad now after reading DrSUTRA post. Considering the potential damage to the injectors this should be a high priority for us all. If Mcarthy Edenvale can't help me today, I'll need to find a dealership that can. Any advice from you guys here who know a dealership in Jhb area that have already done this??

Go to Imperial Kempton - not to far from Isando and very 86 savvy - great dealership thus far. They also have the coolant!!! :bonk:

Forgive my skepticism, but not without other things (i.e. a remap and intake/exhaust). I can believe the GTI - that's not that much quicker, but the 370 sounds a bit "tall" to me. |

Did you deal directly with the Service manager Deon? I agree that the floor guys know almost nothing about these cars, that's why I always deal directly with the managers so it gets the proper attention :D maybe my car is the test car :confused0068: |

I can't wait - I'm having my software upgraded tomorrow, then I'll be able to wipe out the guy with the F430 I was chatting to on Saturday. :w00t: He's actually got two Ferraris, a black 430 cabrio and a red 360 coupe - drool...
@Scarl3t - I'm sorry mate, if you think you can stay within 2 car lengths of a 370Z, you really must stop smoking that stuff. It's not legal here yet. :bs: |

Would be quite surprised if we could take a golf Gti (specially up here at altitude). Have however raced a friend more than once in his Polo Gti and was very surprised that we were neck and nek for all races. Considering he has dsg, launch control, turbo and supercharger and the same claimed 0-100 time as the golf, I reckon that's pretty respectable for our "super slow" cars! :happy0180: |
Edit : nevermind

ZA1JA00G --> ZA1JA01G :w00t:
Done and dusted, thanks to NTT Toyota Barberton. :thanks: Any difference - hell yeah. I found it quite noticably different. Mid-range torque flat spot is IMO considerably less. :w00t: Not totally gone, but a lot better. Top-end - no difference that I could feel. I was worried that the timing retardation over 5200rpm would be noticable - but I couldn't feel it. Maybe a dyno will show something, but for me the top end is still fine. Bottom line - since it was done, I've done 80kms through the MPU twisties. If you know the roads - then it was up Saddleback Pass behind Barberton to the Shiyalongubu turnoff, back down to B'ton, then R40 to Nelspruit via Hilltop Pass. Altitude - 600m-900m I like. :thumbup: A great, but new and evolving car is slowly but surely getting very nicely sorted out. PS: Oh, and hopefully now my direct injectors (and my engine) won't self-destruct if I drive enthusiastically... :clap: |
