Musicians of the forum? Or just people who play instruments?

I did a quick search and a topic of musical "talent" interest didn't come up.

As someone of you know me as an pompous asshole, you must take a cue that i'm a musical asshole as well.

So, does anyone here play an instrument of sorts?

Me for example, i'm an amateur hack guitar/uke/bass player and currently exploring my song writing abilities but when it comes to Jazz, its mostly just noise. I'm still finding my own sound (never ends) and i don't have any recording equipment to display my...sound per say.

What about you? Eh?

Me been playing guitar for almost 12 years now. Try to go to a lot of concerts and seen a good amount of bands in my young life. Play a lot of foo fighters, incubus, oasis, thrice, rise against, led zeppelin, and a few other singles from classic rock or modern rock. I own a Marshall micro stack, Gibson es-335, ibanez gax, fender acoustic dc-100, and some pedals. Try to write music here and there but never record anything. I have in the past recorded with pro tools and messed around with other stuff. I wish I can write a solo like slash or jimmy page but not that good lol. Still though I love playing the guitar and without music I don't know where I would be :)

another guitarist here. do yourselves a favor and get your hands on a suhr. the "modern" model is a beast. also probably have to try to get your hands on an axe fx 2. that thing ended all of my gas for amps and effects.

Informally raised by drummers. Formally studied the cello. Haven't played in years. One day I'll pick it back up.

Guitar and bass player here. Started about 18 years ago now. Currently have a Fender Tele, Epiphone Les Paul, Yamaha nylon string, Jackson electric, beater Squier Strat, and a Fender P Bass.

I just don't play enough any more. Need to get back into it.

Drummer here. Have a decent Yamaha electronic setup. 4 toms, 1 snare, 3 cymbals, 2 bass pedals :) Haven't played much recently, but hope to do more once I move again. I used to be pretty good. Was trying to learn A7X last time I regularly played.

Played guitar for a couple of years. Never got really good at it. Played clarinet for 8 years through school. I actually was pretty good but when they gave me the ultimatum of having to spend several thousands of dollars, which I nor my parents had, to upgrade to a wooden instrument or be stuck in the "lesser" band, I quit and took up auto tech classes instead. My conductor tried to get me to change my mind and come back several times, but I was stubborn and didn't take shit from my teachers.

Found it in the closet a while back. It really needs to be overhauled, but I think I might send it in to be restored and cleaned, and get some new parts so I can pick it up again as a hobby. Also considering getting an Akai EWI4000S and learning on that.
