he said that his sales manager has to put in the order and will call me back with the info. :iono:

Nice what are you ordering, and do you know what # you'll be?

Is anyone else going to the auto show? I want to see a BRZ in person now more then ever.

Both of y'all are getting WRB?! What will you be doing to differentiate from one another?

I'm getting Galaxy Blue Silica (the other blue) A.K.A. Ultramarine on the FR-S side. I love WRB but from the looks of poles on here that is going to be the most common color and I want something a little different. Plus then maybe it will show up sooner :)

I might get a personalized plate but it would have to be something really fun otherwise I'd just feel like a tool. The only other plan I have to customize is making a customized iPhone dock and maybe removable iPad mount.

Well it'll be easy to tell you guys apart then.

I'm kind of like you, I want to get a customized plate, but I don't want to be

(A) recognized by people I don't know and

(B) easy to spot if I'm driving aggressive on back roads

And I'm still debating about whether to upgrade to the BeSpoke (if upgradable) or take my radio from my tc that I put in 2 years ago.

ayau 03-02-2012 11:04 AM

i'm going to have to call brooklyn park subaru dealer again today to confirm that my order was placed. sales guy wasn't really on top with the communication. i'll also ask if they can sell the car at msrp. if not, i'll go back to burnsville subaru. the life time powertrain warranty from morrie's is going to make a difference if they decide to sell above msrp.

At Bloomington I got confirmed when I first contacted them that it will be MSRP, and the communication has been great. They even sent me some $2 off coupons for the Auto Show so I can go see the BRZ there if they don't get a demo in at the dealership first.

i just verified with walser sales that they will not be selling it over msrp, so take that for what it's worth.

when i talked to the sales manager last time at brooklyn park, he said that they'll most likely sell above msrp. i left him a vm and waiting for his call.

ayau 03-02-2012 04:11 PM

brooklyn park sales manager just said that he can promise me the brz for msrp after telling him that walser would sell it to me at msrp. initially, the brooklyn park manager said that they would most likely mark it up by about $500. just a heads up for anyone thinking of shopping at brooklyn park subaru.

Thanks for the heads-up on Brooklyn Park. I am buying mine there also. I was starting to worry. :happy0180:

ayau 03-02-2012 09:22 PM

does brooklyn park have a demo in their showroom right now?

That video is such a tease! I'm not sure how tall that guy is but I love how low the BRZ looks next to him.

i'm curious to know if that video was shot at morrie's showroom. if it is, i'm going to drive there as soon as they're open. i have a feeling it's not, otherwise the sales manager would have told me that they have a brz on the floor. :(

I'm done with work tomorrow at 4 and I might call during the day to see if they actually have it on the salesfloor

did you get a chance to ask them today?

Chupacabra 03-04-2012 12:08 AM

They don't have it there. The guy who filmed the video did it in another dealership, but couldn't tell me where. :paddle:

The gal that answered the phone said they've been getting a lot of calls about it though!

I think the market for this car is perfect. Lots of disposable income and people who have dedicated 'winter cars'.

People who want it, know about it and the ignorant sea-gull types won't be able to knock it because nobody will let them drive it. :bellyroll:

Agreed. It will be interesting to see who amongst us gets their BRZ first.

Anyone know if any of the Scion First-86 were in Minnesota?

Well, I'm 100% set on FR-S. So far for BRZ' it's you and neutron256. Myself and xrs have deposits on the FR-S. But we can all meet up for sure!

Any recommendations for a meeting place? I was thinking Stillwater might be cool.

Chupacabra 03-04-2012 12:31 AM

And all of the dealers I know didn't get a First 86 winner :brokenheart:

Total malarkey.

ayau 03-04-2012 12:33 AM

i'd like to participate in some auto-x once i get the car. it will be my first auto-x event. anyone know when/where auto-x events are held in mn?

I noticed there was one other Minnesotian on the BRZ per-order database thread.

Go to myautoevents.com search for Autocross events, that's what my car club uses.

I will be your shepherd, let me take you to an event Ayau. Sorry if the JC photo offends, but I think it adds to the excitement I had once I read your AutoX enthusiasm.

The one I'd recommend if you're on a tight budget would be the HJC CL-16 helmet. We have them available at my store, but we haven't gotten our new shipment in yet. The cost is about $140 MSRP, but I'll get you and neutron a hookup if ya want. You need a Snell rated helmet and the HJC is the most affordable

If my car gets here, I'll take you out to a Test N Tune...those are the best. If it doesn't arrive in time, we can still go in my tc. I'll keep y'all informed here.

It's where people who have done modifications get unlimited runs on the track or course and have a chance to adapt their new parts without being scored. It's really cool, because people will wrench on their cars and then if they mess up any setting...POOF! off the track. And it's the only time for tandem riding. Usually the events up here don't allow tandem.

Oh man now I have to do auto-x? Just kidding I've thought about it but never been sure if I would like it.

Where do you go to practice for auto-x, or do you just show up and do your best?

Scion is going to leave it up to the dealer until further notice according to my sources.

Show up and go balls to the wall. Haha, nope. It is actually pretty helpful, and they recommend to take it easy your first time and take an instructor your first go around. There are about 5-6 runs during the day.

I can guarantee once we show up with our new cars, it'll be impossible to keep the instructors away :happyanim:

nice. these instructors are paid or something? what's the cost of auto-x? do you have to pay to enter the event? if so, how much is it?

Chupacabra, it sounds like you run a performance parts store based on your previous posts?
