Old pic. The current rims are much dirtier due to the new brake pads. I would not suggest track pads if you care about your rims, lol.

Random blurb from me today.

I was thinking on my drive in to work about the feelings I was having last year at this time. The anxiety and anticipation of getting our cars was in full effect for me. After placing the order of color & transmission (trim for the BRZ's) I knew it was going to be a few months to receive my car.

For me, reading the articles didn't help. I wanted to be the one driving my car; not see someone else enjoy the driving experience. I appreciated the words they wrote, but my selfishness took over. I guess when you want something so bad and have worked your tail off to get it, the ability to be patient dissipates.

But I recognized through this forum that there was people experiencing the same feelings I was and were getting through it. Eventually we all received our cars. And for new forum members that may be checking out this little thread and even smaller response, don't allow yourself to be spoiled with these cars. They're more than a Corolla or Legacy, these cars mean something.

My point is this: When you exit that cloverleaf in 3rd and punch the redline to 5th, appreciate your patience to get where you are today. Your car kicks ass, looks great, and was worth every minute of waiting.

See you tomorrow folks!

Do we have a plan for meeting up tomorrow morning?

Are we hell-bent on getting our cars into the show? I'll wager that tomorrow will be one of those days we have to show up very early.

Nope, I'm not. I'm not sure if I'll go tomorrow.

I'd be up for meeting up first and heading in together, but it sounds like not many others are. I plan to get there pretty early to see if I can get a spot.

I think the turnout will depend on the weather. There's a pretty good chance of rain off and on all morning.

I might go, I think there is still some hidden salt underneath my car, so rain can make it go away. Although it's ironic how I will hate the rain during summer season.

Anyone know a good place around the metro for window tinting.. I've been contemplating about tinting my windows... but with minnesota laws with just 50% tint, I don't think that it's worth it. I had 25% tint on my integra way back then and I got many verbal warnings only... but I'd hate to risk it now... hahaha any suggestions would be helpful.. maybe thinking of doing a 35% on the rear window and the back side windows, and a 50% on the driver and passenger side windows... IDK what do you guys think?.. :sigh:

I plan on being there tomorrow, so let me know where you want to meet. Weather does not look very good at the moment.

I recommend 3M Crystalline Window Film, read:

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...omotive_Films/

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...ineWindowFilm/

Local installer here:

http://www.suncontrolmn.com/automotive/

This is what I would install if I didn't have so many other parts to buy for the car first. The rep at the auto show said that 60% film would be legal in Minnesota. You could try darker and add risk, but the film will block heat even with a light tint.

LeeMaster 04-05-2013 08:29 PM

I hate our tint laws, I had 50% tint done to my previous car and you cant even tell the window is tinted or not. I plan on doing it myself this time with 35% tint and see how it goes.
