Pretty good snag I'd say. I wanted white but I like the red too I suppose.

What size/offset are they, out of curiosity?

17x8.25 +35. were originally gold as far as I can tell. Previous owner painted them gunmetal.

You know, I haven't even looked to see what they are going for these days.

I guess I could do something like $450. I've seen some almost new sets in the $500 $600 range, and varied used ones between $400 - $500.

No offense intended, but if this your first RWD, take it slow. Breaking the front end loose under power is a lot different from the back end. Likewise, regaining control is different.

None taken. I intend to take it somewhat slow and progress as I get comfortable. Just going out for fun more than competition. Cheap seat time

Although... it'd be great bragging rights beating my buddies 8th gen SI haha.

I was hoping to go with oft first because similarly with Kpro, it just wakes the car up a bit with the more aggressive map.

Who did your tuning, if you don't mind my asking? I know full blown prefers ecutek. I know Shane has tuned at least one 86 on oft though.

No need to pay for additional tuning. OFT comes preloaded with 5 tunes including e85.

From everything I read no one really is talking about the parameters. Is A/F or ignition going to be dialed in on the ots tunes? I imagine it's not perfect. If I can find some good footage of someone tweaking with oft and it looks fairly straight forward or simple I'm for it.

Kpro was so easy to use and ecutek looks like a more similar solution but it seems you need to pay both arms and a leg to do any adjusting on your own so that's a downside.

I still haven't dug through enough threads on either. I've been an adhd child running around a toy store looking at all the aftermarket stuff and diys here. I'll get focused and do specific research eventually haha

the OFT is not pretty and does not have some of the amenities that the other units have but for the money, you get a functioning unit. A unit that provides great tunes (unlocked tunes) and great customer support from the developer and crew. The unit does what it was intended to do and that is why I went with the OFT. I was not concerned about being able to switch tunes on the fly or look at a pretty display (great attributes though). My mine focus was making reliable power with the least amount of money until I can go FI. So far so good on the OFT OTS E85 tune and according to my log, AFR and IAC was perfect. Of course a custom tune would benefit, however, IMO the extra few HP is not worth the extra time and money spend.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother with OFT. Open source tunes take away from the potential revenue a company like ecutek could have. More revenue allows for more R&D. Ecutek has brought a lot of cool features for many platforms and many other companies steal from them... Especially the open source ones.

That being said, obviously you're better off with ecutek. Plus if you decide to go e85 which I highly recommend you have flex fuel options with ecutek. E85 pumps that I've filled up at have varied from e87-e45. Flex fuel is really your best option for performance and reliability.

I can see your point but at the same time it's annoying that ecutek is going to nickel and dime you for ***certain features. Why not release it as complete? Like Nintendos view on not having dlc. They aim to release a product in its entirety as its meant to be. Vs ps and Xbox who's out to nickel and dime for the rest of the game later down the line.

Hondata gives you the entire product up front and I'm sure they're doing just fine.

OFT is definitely a different market ploy and I really don't think what they offer should threaten ecutek. The only thing, in my opinion, that turns people away from ecutek is their decision to make you pay for anything you want to do. That or people arent technically inclined to have precise control over specific parameters of their maps.

*** I need to be a master tuner to use the 4 map switch and tune boost in closed loop? Cmonnnn
