@DMDZK, thanks for the video!

You can see my car at about 8:18. It's way more entertaining watching your own driving from behind.

Absolutely, this was the first time I used my gopro and learned 2 things.

First, POV shots are way less cool than other options. Really wish I mounted it to another car following or had it set up in the corners.

Second, The wide field of view makes it seem slower than what it feels like in person. Day of, I could have sworn I was flying, watching it now everything seems for more subdued.

@DMDZK, you should come out to BIR for Proving Grounds in June. I'm planning on going, and I think a couple of the MN autoxers are going as well. There's also novice school on the 20th-21st of April. I'll be going to that.

Also, is your Cayman's exhaust system stock? It seemed pretty loud at DCTC. I think my BRZ is louder on the inside than the outside, lol. That should change once I receive my test pipe and track pipe, lol.

Nice video! Looks like a fun day!

Protip: Mount the GoPro to the back of your car, facing backward for the opposite affect.

The Exhuast has been changed, Installed Fabspeed's Cat back (axle back?)"Maxflow" non - race option and yes it certainly got louder... Almost too loud since it is my daily driver.

My work browser is being lame, so I can't give you the exact link.

Go to myautoevents.com
Click advanced search on the left
Search by state
Novice school should be listed for April 20-21

Edit: It's right here.

Here also is a link to the proving grounds event.

I'm planning on one or both. That track day next weekend looks attractive too since we are unfortunately not running the JAB Golf at RA that weekend :(

Spotted a female driven BRZ on 610 near Blaine this morning.

This weather sucks!

Snoopy_TXR 04-14-2013 06:37 PM

I've seen her on the same highway before. I pull up next to her and she waved so gave her a thumbs up and continued on home.

I just ordered parts to build an oil cooler. Just over $300 shipped, and I'll need to figure out a mounting bracket for the heat exchanger. If anyone else is planning on building their own let me know I'd be happy to fabricate some extra brackets if I can come up with a good design for mine.
@mityfang, you have the perrin oil cooler don't you? I'm curious how their mounting brackets work. Did you have to drill holes for them?

I have the perrin oil cooler, their bracket has holes in them for the bolt to go into. Is that where you plan on mounting your custom oil cooler?

You should fab up some custom brake ducts. I have yet to see an affordable set of ducts for the FT86. :)

Seeing how crappy the weather is currently, I'll probably just bring the Civic to novice school. The only thing I'm worried about are the brake lines. I'm not sure when these lines were last changed.
