I have a feeling a couple parts should transfer nicely for Imprezas to this car tbh. Maybe not a ton of stuff, but I'm sure a couple things will bolt up.
|
Hopefully this means we're going to see the 86 in production for a long time. Toyota wanted to start a new legacy with this car, I hope they succeed.
|
At this rate I don't think some people has a choice but to wait for the late 2013 and 2014 model. Might be possible for us here too in the states, I actually don't mind waiting alittle haha.

Is this pre-orders with an actual deposit or "pre-orders" as in signing up on a website?
|
I don't think it works the same way over there as It does over here, usually the people are highly committed or they've already been taken to a test drive event, or to sit in the car or something over in Japan. So highly likely it's deposited. I might be wrong Im going from a past info when cousin pre ordered a Type R over there a couple years ago.

Wonder if Nissan executives are facepalming themselves releasing a FWD Altima coupe instead of a true RWD version and naming it the Silvia. No market for an affordable RWD coupe my arse...
|
I hope that means high demand is a result of lower price. Doesn't always happen but I believe they will. I hope...
|
That's a lot for a car that's still 3 months away to the release date. I wonder how this number will grow a month after the release. I think CR-Z was 10k and Prius c is like 60k+? I hope it won't be that hard to get one in U.S...

Just to echo a few people here, this is good news for Toyota/Subaru, but bad for people who want the car as soon as it comes out.
I figured at best that there'll be a markup on them when they come out, but now I'm sure it will be at least until 2013 before a good number of us will even get to buy one. Oh well, I figure that I wasn't going to buy one until a year and a half from now anyway. . . :( |

It's a fairly large number, but the Japanese have a fairly large amount of disposable income in comparison to most other countries. From their viewpoint, the 2 to 2.4 million yen price range is cheap. Regards, Paul Hansen www.avoturboworld.com www.facebook.com/BRZSportsCarClub |

Would be interesting to see those CR-Z numbers and other new cars and how it may relate to the BRZ/FR-S/86. |
Didn't they get like 20k pre orders for the Chevy Volt? Just saying.
But yeah. If you are wanting the FR-S or BRZ, you will have to preorder. Just because they are maybe making 13K units for Japan, does not mean they will be making that many for the states. |
I think pre-orders and sales are completely different. Anyone with a few hundred bucks can pre-order with no obligation. Actually buying the car, that's a commitment you can't undo.
