Opti coat questions

Hi,

I am really new to the country and to the car club, but i love to take care of my Firestorm. just completed a month and 1000miles on the car today.

I have been reading that most people get opti coat done on their cars, i wanted to know if its worth it ?

it costs 70$ plus application by a professional !

should i get it or is there something better that i should be looking at ?

Would appreciate the help.

There's a ton of people on here who got opti-coats.

The general consensus is that they're definitely worth it. It'll make cleaning much easier and look waxed without having to do it every 6 months. Keep in mind though that it's not a clear bra and is still prone to dents and scratches but it'll still protect your pint a bit.

After a number of years, you may start to get swirling (from how it's applied) as the opticoat slowly things out but is easy to fix by getting it opti-coated again.

If you don't have the time (or lazy) to wax your car, opti-coat is a great alternative to keep your car looking sharp.

I personally don't have an opti-coat because I prefer to wax my car (and have the time).

Welcome to the forums! Hope to see you around and maybe at one of the meets.

Rick at Unique Car Care in Wakefield, MA is the only guy I let touch my car. He is a certified Opti-Coat applicator and was voted one of the top 9 detailers in the USA by Autoweek Magazine.

How do you mean "nag" him? I'm like less than 10 minutes away from his shop and wanted to set one up.

He is notoriously difficult to get a hold of because of how busy he is. If you only live 10 minutes away then you may just want to just go directly to his shop and make an appointment in person. He is usually there on weekdays after 2 or 3pm.

I actually have an appointment with him on the 22nd of this month to fix my curb rash on my bumper and also a cleaning.

I just called Rick and he scheduled me for the 29th. So stoked!

Nice bro, did you tell him I sent you? I'm bringing my BRZ there this Monday, he is keeping it overnight to fix my curb rash.
