Quad projectors and Quad halos

So one of the ladies in our vegas86 club and also one of the first 86 owners, asked me if I could retrofit her headlights because she liked my retrofit. Also like the halos on my car and on the other members cars I've done. We got to talking and she asked me if I could do a quad projector and quad halos, I said sure. Called up my source at TRS and ordered up the quick retrofit for the main projectors and the matchbox for the high beams.. I also ordered up the 90mm halos and 60mm for the high beam.. She really wanted to stay chrome housings so making this easy and blacking it all out wasn't an option.. I also hooked up the bi-xenon on the low beam projectors to assist with the high beams.. I removed the actuator of the high beams because that's all they will be used for. I wired all the halos up to be used as daytime running lights and with the relay harnesses installation was cake.. So on to the pictures

We decided to paint the inner high beam housing as the reflector was reflecting the cast aluminum of the projector housing and we both agreed it didn't look that great

I'm kinda diggin the chrome headlights. Everyone to include myself is goin all black but that's different and looks great. She has a great taste in mods!

Trashed675 04-13-2013 12:18 AM

How did you get the hi beam projector to stay put?

She is thinking of going bronze, I tried talking her into white.. Like the old Ferrari f50 in red when they painted the housing around the light the same color.. We was going to go black if needed, but she really didn't want to..

They have a threaded housing.. You can see it in this picture, a nut and washer hold it in place

It's the one laying on the table

Also they just don't bolt in.. I had to spend quite awhile with my dremel cutting the housing and widening the socket on the stock housing

Although I might not want to be on the other end of that :P

Not with the brights on.. Hell no.. It's almost painful.. With just the lows, it's like any other projector hid setup.. Insane amounts of light down low, but nothing above the cut off..I'm a little.. And I mean a little disapointed in the right projector, out of all my retrofits I've never had a bad one, but this projector has a hot spot down a little low.. The spot should be just under the cutoff preferably right at the point in which it angles down.. This is a little low

You can see where it should be on the left projector in this picture

And with the high beams on
http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...psb42b74bb.jpg
Again, you can see the spot a little low.. I'm going to call TRS and see if it can be fixed, adjusted, or if I need a new one
