Pentosin MTF2
Does anyone know where I could buy this in Canada? My searching has revealed that it is also used in the 2010 and up Gen Coupe so I'm going to try the Hyundai dealer, but I doubt they'll be much cheaper then the BMW dealer.
Before anyone mentions the forum vendors that sell this, oils can no longer be shipped to across the border. |
Call these guys in the AM. I think they can get it:
CRP Canada Inc. PO Box 98040 2126 Burnhamthorpe Road West Mississauga, ON L5L 5V4 Canada Office: 800.526.4066 Fax: 905.569.9329 |
APC here in London can order it. I ran into the same problem when I ordered it through Esoteric. I had a thread about it. In there somewhere I describe the process I went through to find out that APC orders it. Ended up emailing some distributor that gave me some further info.

Thanks guys! I'll look into it

I ordered from estoric.... Supossedly some stuff was getting confiscated at the border but mine made it though.
Its not worth it for me though. Cost 160 bucks with shipping plus the dealer to swap. I don't feel a big difference and still get the thumps into gear and even occasional grind. I was expecting a completely different shifting experience and it was only marginally better. If I could have a do over I wouldn't do it again. Sometimes I think its actually worse my 5th gear almost never goes in smooth. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |
Do you others like it a lot? I'm really not impressed with mine.

Sorry to bump an old thread about a much discussed topic, but just wondered how fellow Canadians who've had this in for a while were getting on with it.
I changed over at about 1000km a couple of months or so before it got cold here in London. At first thought it was great (as you tend to after a tranny fluid change) but not really that impressed a couple of thousand Ks later as per the poster above. Still crunches at low speed in 2nd and a bit in third when cold, but never really gets completely smooth when warm as I seem to remember the stock fluid smoothing out as it warmed up. Not sure if the cold weather (and gentler driving in winter) is stopping the trasmission warming up as much as when I first got the car. I got mine from the BMW dealership here - about $110 and changed it myself. |
Update: I've been running Pentosin MTF2 in my transmission for the past 10K Km. Initially it wasn't that smooth and didn't like it too much, but once the transmission and fluid got some kilometers on them, things just smoothed out. Now it's very smooth when warmed up, and very driveable when cold. I recommend...

Do you have advance auto there? If so they keep them in stock.
