Roebling Road Raceway

I'm located down in the Savannah/Hinseville area with a White FR-S. I'm about to take it to Roebling Road on May 4-5 with Dark Side's Driving Events. I plan on doing something semi-regularly at this track and for any other track close by if anyone else is in the area wanting to join in.

Roebling is a great track. I wish I was going to the NASA Southeast weekend this weekend. I might be persuaded to make the drive in my BRZ to run an event there later this year once I add some cooling.

Roebling was the location of my first track day ever. I loved it. Great track that's really easy to pick up.

oh i love it there one of the tracks where u do need a stupid fast car to keep up with other really fast cars

Why do we disagree so often? lol

Tracks Ranked IMO:
Every track on earth.
PBIR.
RRR.
End of list.

:)

Same here. Great beginners track. Lots of runoff and nice and flat.

SnapOv3st3r 04-15-2013 11:21 PM

I enjoyed RR also. Wish I could make it down there with my car. I will have to visit that one again. Just stay out of the sand when parking...lol. Got it everywhere.

Wait.. flat is good? lol

It's nothing but a rhythm track and any groups that run straight-only passing means tons of trains.. and not being able to leave whenever, etc.. ugh.. I've never done a DE there, only races, but I still hate it.

Because you only have straight away talent.... I kid I kid :D. I think there is no better track out there to learn double apex corners. No better track to see how big your attachments are in turn 3. I haven't made the trip down to try PBIR to comment on that. If I had to rank the tracks I have run:

Sebring
Road Atlanta
Roebling
NOLA
CMP
Memphis
Talladega GP
Nashville

Any track is better than no track, but RRR is hardly a destination.

You guys need more VIR and Barber in your life.

I get plenty of VIR in my life.. and autobahn.. and mid ohio.. and sebring.. etc.

For GA, RA and AMP are clear winners over RRR. If I lived in GA or North Florida I'd gladly drive the extra hours for either Sebring, RA or AMP.

I forgot to mention I don't like Homestead either lol mostly because it's pretty boring IMO.

I have run across RRR during a race with a junkyard front suspension assembly and a dog before though, that was a fun experience :)

I guess I just like to run on tracks that are great instead of mediocre when I'm spending hundreds of dollars to do so ;)

bestwheelbase 04-16-2013 01:48 AM

@Dave-ROR Was the dog also from the junkyard or did I misinterpret your description? Sounds like quite a weekend. :D

Sebring is fun to watch but my gosh it looks like hell on equipment.

Dave-ROR 04-16-2013 01:50 AM

To rank the tracks I've run.. hmm..

1. Sebring (Mostly because it's my home track and still a great drive).
2. Mid Ohio
3. VIR
4. AMP
5. CMP
7. MAM
8. Daytona
9. Autobahn Country Club (great track but for some reason I just didn't love it)
10. Gingerman
11. BeaveRun (although once the south course is finished and I go back and run full course that might change!)
12. Charlotte Motor Speedway
13. PBIR
14. RRR
15. Homestead (yeah it's worse than RRR IMO....)

I need to run Watkins and RA(merica). And I really enjoyed my short time on AMP and want to revisit it. Maybe for a race later this year but one of the co drivers is going to have a baby right around that time so maybe not for a race...
