Anyone thought about blacking out the stitching?
 

Before I got the car, I thought the red maybe too much for me but after driving it I don't really mind but I still think about it every now and then. They have fabric dye pens for $2-3 at crafts stores. I was thinking silver/gray to match the trim on my BRZ but it wasn't really dye but rather a thick paint like liquid similar to whiteout. I then got an Elmers Painters dye pen in black and it really soaked into the stitching. I dyed a small area in the back but stopped after cramping up (there really is no space back there!). Because the BRZ has leather and most of the stitching is on leather, you can carefully dye then wipe any excess off the leather as opposed to the FR-S where it might soak into the cloth fabric.

Here's a picture if anyone is interested, although i'm sure a lot of you guys and gals love the red already :)

When you get old sitting on a lawn chair you'll be thinking back and wondering "man, why did i waste my precious youth coloring stitching threads..."

Please remember to count how many stitching were there in a BRZ while you are doing that.

I've thought about re-stitching with yellow thread, and yellow inserts in the seats instead of that red. I seem to recall someone doing this for SEMA, but cannot find the pictures.

White or orange would look sick. But not worth my time doing.
I don't like red that much but it looks great in the FR-S's interior.

I got mine all black leather. Mostly because leather is easier to clean. And my last car didn't have leather and the seats stunk like shit no matter how many times I cleaned those seats. I never knew why they stunk

picture uploaded. but after taking the pic a few days later it looks like the black didn't really soak in. there is probably some polyester in the fabric that isn't going to fully soak in the black dye. i'm gonna give it another "coat" and see if that changes anything but i'm mostly going to not continue with this as the red is really growing on me.

To the OP's question, I personally think the red stitching adds a much needed detail to a fairly dull interior. So, no.

Looks terrible. It doesn't even completely black out the thread. You are simultaneously wasting your time and reducing your cars resale value.
