Between Washes

After checking the weather report, I detailed my car this weekend. I was excited to drive to work this week. Unfortunately there was a light rain fall yesterday morning that left tiny rain/dust spots all over my car. So I stopped by the touch-less car wash and got a quick wash, went home and applied a second coat of wax. Today I go outside during lunch and find that it is REALLY windy. I look at my car and it is evenly coated in fine dust. :mad0260:

I'm wondering what everyone does in between car washes to keep their rides looking good. What would be a good way of removing the dust without creating the swirls? Would microfiber brushes be too harsh? Please advise.

If my car got dust and grit on it while being outside I would do either nothing or wash it. Any kind of a "California Duster" appliance would only end up rubbing the grit into the wax.

I wash my car once a week and that's it. You'll go crazy trying to keep it clean all the time. Stuff will always happen to get it dirty. Unless it is directly in my view on the window, I'll just leave whatever it is until the next wash. My only exception is bird poop. I clean that ASAP

Thanks for the advise fellas. It's pretty much what I was thinking but had to throw it out there so I could sleep well. I'll let it get dirty for now and wait till next wash.

I use a mothers detailer in a bottle product in a pinch, ya know just before the guests arrive..

I use California Car dusters, but will probably switch to a microfiber this year.

All winter I have been using this product with GREAT results:

I have also used this one, usually during the summer months when there is not so much grime to remove:

I wash mine usually once every one or two weeks. Mine is parked outside so yes... it is super dusty. Usually wash it after a track day.

If its not really dirty, a micro fiber finger duster (background of picture) and then..

This makes two of us... I was happy about my car being clean Sunday but stupid rain money kinda killed it! Oh wells but Meguiars Quik Detailer should be your best friend with a microfiber towel

I'm going to check out the Meguiars Quik Detail tomorrow. I'm going to vegas this coming weekend and I'll probably wash it again anyway, however, I am curious to see the results of these detailer products. I'll probably test it on the lower rear bumper behind the wheel just in case. I am a little skeptical but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

what products do you guys use to was the car?

when should you start applying was / clay to the paint of the car.

Mate of mine told me not to bother with it until 6 - 12 months after purchasing the car

Clay it when a normal wash and wax won't get rid of the "gritty" feeling on the surface of the paint.
