Benefits of a front pipe?

Hey guys! I know the basics of what the front pipe is and what it will do. I am currently running an Invidia N1 system and I'm planning on buying the Invidia front pipe to match. Will I get a sound change? Will it be louder? if so will the tone be deeper? And will I get an increase in HP?

replace both the front and over-pipes, frees up a lot of restriction. if you go cat-less you will definitely be louder (catted will be louder than stock too but less so), not too sure about deeper however.

I currently am running an over pipe and catless front pipe with the stock cat back. It sounds a bit deeper at idle but once your rolling I don't notice much sound difference at all.

What brand over pipe are you running?

Switching out the front pipe will make it louder and increase your power as front pipe and over pipe are the most restrictive section of the exhaust. The stock front pipe alone has a restrictive cat AND a resonator so getting rid of those can significantly change power and sound

Go catted.... Catless sounds like ass and adds rasp to MOST exhausts. Don't go the cheap route and end up with a fartcan. Besides, the difference between catted and catless is negligible and its been proven.

Also, if you ever decide to have headers, this will help keep the sound down and smell away. That's one of the reasons I went with the Invidia catted front pipe.

Made it myself, its 2.5" diameter. I previously had an axle back and with that it did make a throatier sound.

God, I really don't want a fartcan... I just pulled the trigger on the unresonated front pipe. Do you think I will get rasp with JUST the front pipe and the catback system? I don't plan on doing headers or an over pipe any time soon. So hopefully it won't be too raspy or fartcan-esque.

Ive had a few arrangements of exhaust and the only one I found annoying in sound was just the axle back muffler delete with everything else stock. I found it just loud and not a very appealing sound.

The front pipe is the ticket to a better sound, then from there the cat back will decide the volume.

I think you'll be fine this way.

Thank you for the reassurance. It's what I needed.

A video of the N1 with the catless front pipe is on their first post if you scroll down a bit.

It seems like it gives the exhaust a little more pop. I like that.
