Beer Thread

Ok, I admit it. I didn't search to see if one of these existed already..... shoot me.

I figured we could use a thread to discuss beer.

Anyone that mentions the words Budweiser, Coors, Busch, or Miller beyond this post....so help you....I will find you.

---------------------------------------------------

My favorite beer at the moment (It changes routinely) and the one I'm drinking right now.

Wolaver's Alta Gracia Coffee Porter

The ABSOLUTE perfect amount of coffee flavor in a coffee porter.

This is my yardstick for coffee porters. I've found none better.

I'm a beer lover myself. I've had many types in all manner of places around the world. Sadly, I don't rememeber the names of the majority of them, but I do usually recall the massive hangovers that follow.

Usually, I keep it fairly simple and drink these on the regular.

Stella
Amstel light
IPA
And a bunch of others, but I can't remember them due to this hangover right now...

I could on for days and days about all the beers I love. But like a lot of you guys, if I had to pick one brewery to lord over all others, it would have to be Dogfish Head (second only to my home brews). Those guys don't pull any punches when it comes to combos and awesome brews.

If you guys don't use, Untappd on your phones you need to. Its really good for seeing what other people are drinking in your area or the bar you are in. I've found many suggestions from there to try.

It's a porter. Not as heavy as a stout but heavier than most.

Either way I'll try it. I was wondering if it was heavy therefore be good enough or not to go with a nice steak.

I was never really a "beer guy". Pumpkin Stout, Bluberry Ale, triple Wheatberry Lager, ect, were never my thing. Mostly, when I drank, it was for one reason, and that was to get hammered, so really, beer was never my first choice to begin with, but when it was, my preferences were pretty trite, I'm afraid. Not as bad as Bud, but pretty close when admitted to an aficionado.

My apologies in advance...

Rolling Rocks from the cooler and Guinness from the tap. not to say I wouldn't try/like something else, I just never bothered, I guess.

Maybe this thread will change my mind...

Guinness from tap.
Leinkerkugal
Hefenwizer (not the US made one)

and I've been on an adventure looking for some Irish coffee. >:/
