Auto to manual
so After all the trouble I had with my First FR-S i finally got a new manual FR-S and I like it a million times more:drool:. The reason I got an auto in the first place was because i got one of the first other than the first 86 and i was happy with it. I now know that i was wrong to have gotten the auto:bonk:

Interesting, i was considering the Auto because im such a lazy driver. In the end i got a manual becuse thats all i could get.
As good as the auto is, its complexity might be a problem in the future. Where as the manual is just refined bricks and mortar. so to speak. |

lol more burned clutches from all the clutch kicks ^___^

I think the auto defeats the purpose of the car. If I wanted an auto, I'd get a completely different car, probably a used 135i. Auto makes the car slower and less engaging.

Not quite. The manual mode on the auto is still nice and gives the driver a good interaction with the car. I enjoy the responsiveness driving manual mode. But yeah I learned how to drive manual after I bought mine auto. Maybe my next car will be manual. |
I'll be hopefully trading in my auto for a manual tonight!
After having the initial excitement wore off, I've resolved I like the feel of a manual transmission 1000x more. But, I do highly respect the auto that is in my current fr-s :). If I was more lazy/had a long commute I would definitely stick with the auto. As it is, I'll take the punishing traffic if it means that much more fun in the twisties :) |

Also the Auto is faster in a rolling start, but you manual drivers beat us at rest. |
Manual is the way to go! Nice upgrade.
And I'd highly doubt that the auto trans is going to have fewer problems than the manual. Changing a clutch in a manual trans is very cheap and easy, but fixing a broken automatic is a serious issue. |
Pro amateurs?

Funny, I was just reading this article about manual vs. auto today. It even mentions the FR-S/BRZ.
Does this image from the article look familiar? http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/w...s-vs-stick.jpg |
