K&N Intake and Unichip Dyno Results
1 Attachment(s)
I'm sure I'll be able to add more to this thread next week. Just getting in some quality time with my wife.
We did this Wed of last week. No dyno for this vehicle without the Unichip because the owner was anxious to play with his new toy. Not a retailer of their products. My boss was in another life though. Attachment 33127 Dyno done immediately after install. We should have gotten a couple of runs before and after the intake install with the hood closed. Perhaps next time. I'd take this into account as there obviously won't be such an unrestricted amount of air flowing into the K&N. No other performance mods on this car. NOTE: This is the K&N cold air intake and not the replacement panel filter. What mods were done before the intake?

I plan on doing something similar, but I'll Be disconnecting the unichip when I do it. |

Ahhh, so the Injen doesn't make 15-20whp... imagine that...

Looks like it gets 4 HP or so not bad

No ours were done with an open hood. I noted it should have been done with a closed hood. Obviously advantage goes to the K&N vs the stock box. I would expect a 25 percent drop. Random guess. IATs should be logged as well on the street.
We spent a little more time than expected putting the box together. There are a few brackets, bolts, nuts, washers, and trim to cut / put on. By that point the significant other just wanted me home. Customer should be stopping by again in a couple of weeks. Just a computer geek but 15 for a CAI :)? I'm with you on not believing that. Perhaps on something with 6.3L or so. Pretty solid results...have you dynoed a stock FRS/BRZ on the same dyno? Just curious if they read about 160whp on the same dyno?
If so, +18whp is pretty nice for an intake and unichip. I'm in the same boat. I have the AEM intake and am waiting on the map. I'm currently running their Injen map and it works fine. I'm waiting to get the AEM map before I hit the dyno. |
Added more pictures.
The dyno reads closer to 170hp and 140 tq. on most FR-S' (stock). |
