Does anybody know if the tune from the vortech is better than the ecutek?

I'm planning on getting either the hks or vortech charger, mostly vortech, but I also want to get the stage 2 ecutek. But I don't want to waste my money on a tuner if the one that comes with vortech is going to be better. So does anybody know if the vortech tune is better than the ecutek?

The vortech tune is an ecutek tune...

Vortech uses Ecutek for the tune. There tune is made specifically for reliability. If you want a more aggressive tune you can get people like Perrin and Visconti to get you a tune.

Stage 2 Ecutek description is incomplete. What do you mean by Stage 2 Ecutek? From what tuner? Are you talking about pumpgas stage 2? What mods do you have to support stage 2 pump gas map?

Are you calling Ecutek stg 2 the Vortech kit with a different smaller pulley?

Personally, I'd prefer to go through Perrin or Visconti, because they will offer updates and whatnot as needed. Even if vortech offers tune updates, you can bet it will take longer to get just due to the number of customers.

The Vortech factory tune is superb...

Frostyman 04-07-2013 06:31 PM

I was under the impression that your tune was sourced through Perrin as well. Was your base kit from vortech, and perrin just handled upgrades?

Huehuecoyotl 04-07-2013 06:34 PM

Yeah, exactly, I can revert back to Vortech's tune and 3.48 pulley, I can run perrins tune and 3.48 and Perrin has tunes for smaller pulleys

Visconti sells a pretty good tune for the kit too.

Your referring to visconti. I know what you mean I'm saying someone installing the kit and immediately strapping to a dyno and getting a tune specific to that vehicle
Not an email tune and then tweaking it. I don't know if I make sense right now LOL

Ok, I understand now what you mean. I think Pure Automitve might be doing that installing + dyno tune.
